Boruc has a history of this kind of thing.
Part & parcel of footballers life, most players are big enough to ignore it tho.

boro_boy
02-03-2008, 09:05
Why should they ignore it if they are getting it. The fans and the idiots here, if they players do something after being verbally abused, the fans want them off the pitch. The fans have to learn to give and take me thinks.

At the end of the day they are only human and emotions usually overrule what they should "really" do.

Seems an almost exclusive emotion to Boruc.

Wee Strachan isnt happy.-
Celtic boss Gordon Strachan queried whether Artur Boruc should have been booked for gesturing to Hibernian fans after Saturday's 2-0 SPL win.Strachan called for clarification of the Scottish Premier League's disciplinary rules after goalkeeper Boruc was shown a yellow card at the end of the Hoops' victory at Easter Road.

The Poland international was booked by referee Iain Brines after hanging back to wave and gesticulate to the home fans before applauding the Hoops supporters.

Boruc and the Hibs fans were engaging in the banter for much of the game. Storm in a tea cup as far as I can see.

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan said the booking was unfair and asked for the rules to be clarified.

But the SFA said Brines was correct to show the yellow card if a player made gestures which are "intended to incite or ridicule opposing spectators".

A player may also be booked if his gestures are "provocative, derisory or inflammatory".

I clearly saw Boruc make a number of gestures towards the home spectators

Referee Iain Brines

The referee acted in line with instructions and within the guidelines "which are universal in football and should be known by all participants," the SFA said.

Brines said: "I clearly saw Boruc make a number of gestures towards the home spectators, using his hands and arms in a fashion which could only be described as inflammatory, provoking hostile reaction from the terracings."

And his gestures were of geeing up the rangers support in the copland stand behind him.,none aimed at Celtic fans,So yeah you have a very good point.

He wasn't charged. He was found not proven. Besides it had nothing to do with the chorus rousing. It was the spat involving McAvennie in which Woods and Butcher were found guilty. I don't think he was even booked (for the conducting). Was Gazza booked for his sash whistling? I can't remember.

Boruc adds a bit of spice.

The rangers or hibs don't like a bit of what they give.

They are happy to lay it out and abuse people, but someone who has a bit of bottle and give some back, what do they do, "they bloody complain about it" like the kids/bairns that they are.

Men, me thinks not.

Tossers the lot of em.

Why wont you guys just admit, that boruc continually tries to incite other fans.

I think Roberts was every bit as culpable, if not more so, than Gazza. Roberts was conducting the Billy boys after an already fierce game in which his collegues were sent off. But the Scottish press were more interested in Peter Grant blessing himself that day.

I think Boruc is out to wind the opposition fans up. He's succeeding.

The Celtic are lucky, they have their leagues most charismatic manager and with Boruc a player who courts controversy and comedy.
