This is so difficult, especially being from the North East. In case you didn't know, generally, everyone from the North East who don't support the Toon absolutely despise them.

I would like to say that I would love to see Boro lift the trophy just so that I could say to the Magpies "Who's the best team in the North East again?" but would also like to see them and their Geordie fans be knocked down a peg or two and get dumped into the Championship. Either way, as long as it sees 'Castle crying, it's good yes:

I'm actually quite surprised you didn't say see Boro win the FA cup. I mean, being a Boro fan, surely you would rather wish success on yourself than relegation on another team. I know I would rather see Pools get promoted than see Darlo get relegated, just for the simple fact that if your worst enemy has a bad season, that doesn't particularly mean you'll have a good season, so I would rather be sat comfortably on a good season and success in cup games than see another team do bad :p

Even though my team is only in League One, I've always had a huge disliking for 'Castle. If I HAD to support a Prem team, I would most probably choose Boro over 'Castle, despite them being "the best team in the North East" apparently.

I don't know if you find this - well you most probably will being a Smoggie - but everyone from the North East just has a tendancy to hate Newcastle as far as football goes it would be great to see them go down, but that doesn't necessarily make you lot good. I would love for you lot to have a really successful season, finish above Newcastle, win a bit of silverware and stick a couple of fingers up at them yes: that way, they can't make excuses for you being better than them, such as "we had a bad season" or, "you've not gotten any better, we've just got worse" yes:

Yes, definitely. I have a Hartlepool-born friend who supports Toon and has done so all of his life. Whenever I wind him up and say that they're crap, his repsonse is "what league are Hartlepool in again?"... My response is normally "you're only as good as the last game you played... and when was the last time you won?" Especially now they have crappy Keegan yes: or another one is "you might be the best in the North East but there's the rest of England out there that's better than you" yes: the twats!
