Just a quick review of all the games that will be taking place this weekend. Here are the games:
Saturday
Aston Villa v Sunderland, 15:00
Blackburn v Wigan, 15:00
Bolton v Man City, 15:00
Everton v West Ham, 17:15
Middlesbrough v Derby, 15:00
Newcastle v Fulham, 15:00
Reading v Birmingham, 15:00
Tottenham v Portsmouth, 12:45
So lets start with the first game, Aston Villa v Sunderland. Villa are hard team to beat but I think they have lost the momentum a little, something Sunderland have not had this season. Villa lost 2-0 against Portsmouth last Saturday and previous to that, drew 1-1 with a non convincing performance against Middlesbrough. Sunderland have lost there last two home games 0-1 against Everton and Chelsea. For me this match can only go one way and that way is a Villa win and a comfortable one.
Blackburn v Wigan is the next match, Blackburn drew against Fulham but lost away to West Ham but they are flying high at the moment in 9th place on 46 points. Wigan however are in 12th pos with 31 points, they have won there last game 1-0 against Bolton and drew 0-0 against Manchester City/ My prediction for this is going to be a 1-1 draw, both teams are finding it hard to score but are also keeping a tight defence.
Bolton v Man City next up, Bolton in 18th place and Manchester City in 8th Place and fighting for a European spot. Bolton have lost their last two games City won against Tottenham but lost against reading which is a little strange. I can only see this game going city's way. 2-0 to City would be a good prediction for this one.
Everton v West Ham, West ham won last weekend which eased the pressure on Curbishly. Everton lost their last game against Fulham 1-0. Everton are currently in 5th position and fighting for a Champions league spot, they are also only 3 points behind Liverpool so they have a massive incentive to win. West Ham can only look for Uefa football next year but they will have to fight for that currently in 10th pos. Everton will have most of the motivation to win this game and thats why i've put them, down to win 2-1.
Middlesbrough v Derby, Middlesbrough are i 13th position, Derby in 20th but there is a massive gap of 21 points between the clubs. Derby are guaranteed to go down so they will have nothing to lose. It will be a hard game for Middlesbrough and a close one, but boro should have the skill to beat Derby by 1 or two goals. Prediction is a boro win 1-0.
Newcastle v Fulham, Newcastle are playing awful at the moment, no team spirit, fans not getting behind them, empty seats and poor away support at the last game. But I feel this will be the game they actually get all three points. The team have to be up for this and they have to win it tbh. There is so much pressure on the team, that it might get to them in a bad way. Fulham are 19th on 23 points and look doomed but they have more reason to win than Newcastle in my view. Anyway my prediction is going to be a 2-1 to Newcastle. Finally they will get the win they have been after for a long time.
Reading v Birmingham, Reading are on the up even though they lost 2-1 to liverpool, before that they beat Middlesbrough with a late goal and then Manchester City, 2-0. They have climbed away from the relegation zone and look like a team working together. Birmingham on the other hand look like a team who don't want to stay in the league. I can only see a Reading win, Birmingham have been playing really poor as of late!!! 3-1 to Reading.
Tottenham v Portsmouth, Pompey are totally on fire at the moment, beating Birmingham 4-2 and then beating Villa 2-0. Tottenham are not playing as good at the moment, They lost and drew their last two games, the last game drawing 4-4 in a very entertaining game. But I think Portsmouth will be to strong for them. 1-2 to Portsmouth
Enjoy the Easter weekend. Sundays games will be reviewed tomorrow.
