Match Report :

First Half -

The Mff Manager Jimmyshimmy handed debuts to three players with Triniboi coming in at right back, Alexxturner filling the troublesome left back spot and Histon replacing the suspended gbnine. For the first time this season there were no trialists on show for the MFF side and it showed in the confident manner in which they started the game at the Boleyn Round.
West Ham had recalled Luis Boa Morte for this vital clash but they seemed to be suffering from a lack of confidence, a result of two consecutive defeats,in the opening exchanges. Jimmyshimmy started a great move in the seventh minute when he strolled out of defence with the ball, with the West Ham defence backing off he spotted a fine run from I AM CANADIAN and played him in behind the sruggling Mcartney, The winger put in a fine cross which was met by Artetas' Gem who was unlucky to see her effort come back off the post.
Mff where by now totally dominating the play and it seemed only a matter of time before the deadlock would be broken but the West Ham goal was leading a charmed life. Dommcassels was harshly adjudged offside when he he skipped around Robert Green and finished off a fine move involving Histon and Yiddo. Yiddo was so incensed by the decision from the officials that his protests saw him become the first name into the book.
After 23 minutes Hayden Mullens shook off a heavy challenge from Gunnergirl 91 to play in Dean Ashton on the edge of the penalty area in West Hams' first attack of any note, Ashton made space for himself and was ready to fire the trigger when Triniboi came in and dispossesed him with a pefectly timed tackle.
With Yiddo orchestrating the Mff Midfield though it was the visitors who looked most likely to take the lead. Sure enough when Scott Parkers' 32nd minute pass was intercepted by Yiddo, the midfielders inch perfect pass landed at the feet of the breaking Alexxturner who's left wing cross to the edge of the six yard box was met by the unmarked Dommcassels who sent a diving header past the helplessly exposed Robert Green .
Just before the break Mff Utd were again denied by the woodwork when a fine corner from Histon was met by Shanks1965 who outjumped the out of sorts Anton Ferdinand and headed against the underside of the bar, the ball tantalisingly then bounced into the arms of the grateful Robert Green.

Half Time Summary: A half of football which was totally dominated by the visitors. Mff Utd played some of their best football of the season against a West Ham side desperately short on confidence. Mff Utd though were only one goal to the good after twice being denied by the woodwork and having what seemed to be a pefectly good goal dissallowed.

Second Half:

The First ten minutes of the second half passed without any incidents of note but the game seemed to explode into action in the 55th minute when Gunnergirl91 picked up the ball on the centre circle and attacked the West Ham defence. The Midfielder just Walztsed through the home teams backline and unleashed a thunderous shot from the edge of the box which in turn produced a fine save from Green.
West Ham had rode their luck all of the game but they seemed to sence that this could after all be their day and on the hour they produced a fine effort of their own. Ashton played a one two with Freddie Ljungburg and when he found himself away from the defence he was only denied by a brave diving challenge by Jonesy the Mff keeper.
The former Wales number one had been a spectator for most of the game but after 66 minutes was again called upon when she tipped over a spectacular 25 yard effort from Zamora.
The home crowd had suddenly realised that that there may be something left for them in a game in which they had been totally outplayed and they were encouraged once more when Dean Ashton blazed a shot narrowly wide after 72 minutes.
West Ham manager Alan Curbishly made a double substitution on 75 minutes when he replaced the dissapointing Scott Parker with the combative Noble and withdrew a tiring Freddie Ljundberg replacing him with Nobby Solano.
After 80 minutes Domcassells skied over from 12 yards to the relief of the Claret & blue fans amongst a near sell out crowd of 34,014.
With just 3 minutes of this exellent match left the exciting Luis Boa Morte lifted the roof off The Boleyn ground when he rushed onto Solano's brilliant through pass and although Jonesy parried his 1st shot, the grounded keeper could only look on in horror as the West Ham striker sent the loose ball into the net with a diving header that gave the Hammers a welcome point.

Summing Up: Two points thrown away by Mff in a game that should have been dead and buried at the interval. Credit though has to go to West Ham who rode their luck and played thier part in a fine game of football.

Man of the match – Yiddo, He looked different class especially in the first half and he is especially unlucky not to have been on the winning side.

Disappointing result, but understandable, since we're all still getting to know each other. Gotta take all three points next week, though. :)

By the way, I'd swear that I wore squad number ten in that match. :icon_mrgr:
