Just another friendly international. I think the squad below will get reduced soone, but I'm uncertain. Friendlies sometimes have rules bent.

Defenders: Wayne Bridge (Chelsea), Wes Brown (Manchester United), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Glen Johnson (Portsmouth), Joleon Lescott (Everton), John Terry (Chelsea), Jonathan Woodgate (Tottenham Hotspur)

Midfielders: Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Gareth Barry (AstonVilla), Owen Hargreaves (Manchester United), Joe Cole (Chelsea), David Bentley (Blackburn Rovers), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), David Beckham (LA Galaxy), Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough)

Forwards: Michael Owen (Newcastle United), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Peter Crouch (Liverpool), Theo Walcott (Arsenal)

France squad:
Goalkeepers: Gregory Coupet (Lyon), Mickael Landreau (PSG), Hugo Lloris (Nice), Steve Mandanda (Marseille)

Defenders: Eric Abidal (Barcelona), Jean-Alain Boumsong (Lyon), Gael Clichy (Arsenal), Francois Clerc (Lyon), Mathieu Delpierre (Stuttgart), Julien Escude (Seville), Patrice Evra (Man Utd), William Gallas (Arsenal), Gael Givet (Marseille), Philippe Mexes (AS Roma), Adil Rami (Lille), Anthony Reveillere (Lyon), Sebastien Squillaci (Lyon), Lilian Thuram (Barcelona)

Midfielders: Mathieu Bodmer (Lyon), Alou Diarra (Bordeaux), Lassana Diarra (Portsmouth), Mathieu Flamini (Arsenal), Claude Makelele (Chelsea), Rio Mavuba (Lille), Samir Nasri (Marseille), Jeremy Toulalan (Lyon), Jerome Rothen (PSG), Patrick Vieira (Inter Milan)

This is really tough to call. On the face of it, I can't see England getting much from the game, but then Capello has got a decent squad and I think he's got the confidence of the players. France play with a hell of a lot of pride at their place and if it's the 'same old England' then the best we can hope for is a draw.

french letters do seem more sophisticated than english ones... must be all the accents :tongue

Still think that England can win this one.... Scotland won there, so it must be easy :laugh

dont talk to me about accents on french letters..i've been typing up french essays all morning for my GCSE, its so annoying having to stop at evey other letter and try to remember the ALT number to get the right accent on the right letter :ranting:

it just came to my mind that with Rio given captaincy, Terry maybe not be playing/starting. Well thats my idea, sure to be corrected once the lineups are announced.

Great night for France, not only beating England, but Frenchman Seb Carole scores the second goal for Leeds United reserves in a famous 2-0 win over Lincoln.

Wish I had gone, it would probably have been better fare than the game I have just endured.:nod

agreed. listening to wilkins and hoddle try and do their best disecting the players, is even more boring

Bit of a yawn fest really. Still don't look convincing do they. Disagree with the pundits too, I don't think they played well as a team. I know their was a lot of subs due to being a friendly and all, but there were far too many loose passes.
