Hartlepool's Shame

The few women on this forum may not agree with me on this, and a few men may also surprise me and disagree with me on my point of view on this, too but fcuk it ...

I went and bought the Hartlepool Mail today and turned straight to the back, as per usual and read my way to the front... only to find in the middle a headline saying "Footballers will learn on and off the pitch" with a picture of women in Pools tops. Great I thought. Then I read the article.

To my horror, Hartlepool United have went and set up a woman's football team in the very recent past. I'm disgusted! Women's football is just terribly embarrassing, dull and paint-like to watch - as if we need a female football team.

To make matters worse, the women will be getting BTEC qualifications from it. What the fcuk! The team will be coached by former England international Gill Coulthard who collected 100 caps for her country. What a waste of time.

I'm so horrified by this! A woman's Hartlepool side! All women's football leagues are awful anyway, let alone a league one side. ARGH! As if the men's team didn't play like girls anyway

Sorry if I come across sexist... but I am.

i dont see a problem with womens football. i wouldn't watch it myself as it would be shite (well for a few mins i would and that aint for the quality of the football ) but lots of women are very good at football , to be honest poolie they will probaly be better than your mens side

Well you never know poolie, the whole idea might grow on you, especially if the girls turn out to be a half decent side. Presumably this is all kicking off next season? Lets suppose they do quite well, wont you go and watch them play if only out of interest?

Having just seen our womens team lose their 51 match winning streak i could say that not all woman footballers are shite, and some are actually very good.

And to be honest, some of the woman internationals are cracking games. I like watching them when they're on Sky Sports.

Exactly. It would be shite. And I'm not interested in watching the boobs part of it so there's nothing interesting about it. And I know they'd be better than our regular side... that doesn't mean that they'll be good though.

No, I cannot stand women's football. It's tacky and just looks like they're trying painfully too hard and failing miserably at matching the men's standards. There's a reason that women's football hasn't taken off: because it's shite.

There's two women's teams that are "good"... Arsenal and Fulham. And even then, they're only seen as "good" because the others are worse... it doesn't mean that those two teams are good

I had a feeling that many would disagree with my disgust lol but it's just a pointless move in my opinion. Women's football is nowhere near the standards of mens and IMO, it never will be. I can't see it getting any sort of following or attention and I can't see anything worthwhile coming from it whatsoever, other than the lasses getting a BTEC qualification from it.

Oh no, I wouldn't be allowed on the team even if I could play football to a professional standard. If someone tackled me and knocked me on my arse, I'd stand up and nut them one so I'd be on the reserves every week learning to control my temper.

The shame is yours poolie woman for your antiquated views.

Oh and by the way, if you nutted anyone on a field, hopefully you would end up in the same place that Duncan Ferguson visited.
