Hull to bid for Boateng

Quote:
Hull City are in talks to sign Middlesbrough midfielder George Boateng and are close to finalising a deal for Geovanni.

Boateng told Sky Sports News last month that he is open to offers as he enters the final year of his contract at the Riverside.

The Dutchman fell out with Boro boss Gareth Southgate last season and has now been given the opportunity to join Premier League new boys Hull.

A fee has yet to be agreed between the two clubs, but Tigers chairman Paul Duffen confirmed discussions have been held with Boateng.

SKYSPORTS
His time is pretty much up at boro, wouldn't mind seeing him move to hull as he would get a great reception when he returns to boro for the boro hull game.

i heard he might link up with Mclaren at his new club in holland.

This signing just seems like a typical one from a team coming up from the Championship to me. He's a decent enough player, but not that fantastic. Am I being too harsh?

It's very hard for newly promoted teams to buy anyone other than other Premier League teams rejects or players who may or may not cut it.

I think this is a very good signing for Hull.

I agree it is hard for newly promoted teams, but this isn't a signing that is going to keep Hull up is it? They might have been better to save their money for the promotion push next season.

bad news, if they get Boateng then more then likley they wont go 4 Olofinjana ( hoping they would/will). Apart from that i like Boateng and some of you Boro's guys say he wasnt the best last season, maybe he needs a challenge? Would be a good bit of buisness for everyone involved

I hope Boeteng goes to another premiership club. We could keep him for 1 more season as an emergency backup. But maybe it is just time for him to move on.

He will be going to another Premiership club mate well for 10 months anyway.

If they make a good offer, we would be stupid to turn it down. He's 32, not as good as he used to be and isn't first team material.
