Leaders Walsall marched on at the summit of League Two while title contenders Milton Keynes Dons & Lincoln both lost ground after slumping to defeats.

The Saddlers made light work of Peterborough at London Road with early goals from Daniel Fox (pictured) and Chris Westwood securing a 2-0 success.

MK Dons are now five points adrift of the leaders after going down at home to Swindon Town. Lee Peacock secured the win with a 31st minute effort.

Lincoln also lost ground following a 2-1 reverse at improving Macclesfield Town. Jeff Hughes cancelled out Kevin McIntyre's early penalty, but his second spot-kick of the game secured the points.

Accrington Stanley stay just ahead of The Silkmen thanks to David Brown's late brace. Josh Johnson levelled matters after Paul Mullin opened the scoring, but Brown's late intervention secured a priceless away win.

Torquay United are now six points adrift at the foot of the table after going down to yet another late defeat. Andy Sandell's 84th minute effort for Bristol Rovers heaped more misery on The Gulls.

Andy Monkhouse lifted Hartlepool over Mansfield at Field Mill while Wycombe Wanderers' home clash with Hereford United finished goalless.

Shrewsbury Town raced into a 3-0 lead over Stockport and held on despite a late scare by The Hatters. Things looked rosy thanks to goals from Ben Davies and Andrew Cooke (2).

However, Anthony Pilkington pulled one back after the interval and added another in the 69th minute. However, the visitors were unable to muster that all-important leveller at Gay Meadow.

Chester City remain in 15th despite a 2-1 win over Notts County. Veteran striker Jason Lee cancelled out Jonathan Walters' opener, but Ashley Westwood snatched a late victory.

Elsewhere Rochdale put Grimsby Town to the sword with a stunning 4-0 win at Blundell Park. The visitors were in control at the half with Simon Ramsden and Glenn Murray both netting.

Adam Rundle got in on the act shortly after the hour mark with Ramsden's second adding the icing on the cake.

Boston United's 2-1 win over Barnet completed a busy afternoon's action in League Two.

Mark Greaves opened the scoring early on only for Richard Graham to equalise four minutes later.

However, the contest was settled shortly after the interval with Ismail Yakubu putting through his own net, giving The Pilgrims the points in the process.

Bury's clash with Darlington at Gigg Lane fell foul of the weather and was postponed due to waterlogged pitch.
