S****horpe moved one point clear at the top despite drawing 0-0 with Port Vale, as Oldham hammered nine-man Nottingham Forest 5-0.

The Iron had started the day level on points with Forest and three clear of Oldham, but they were frustrated in their attempts to break down Port Vale.

Oldham's cause was boosted when Sammy Clingan was sent off for Forest after 21 minutes, but they ruthlessly took advantage of their numerical superiority to climb up to second.

Paul Warne opened the scoring after 30 minutes, before Chris Porter (pictured) got in on the act in the 39th minute and Andy Liddell scored from the penalty spot (43).

Liddell netted his second penalty of the game in the 68th minute, after Danny Cullip had become the second Forest player to be given his marching orders for serious foul play.

Craig Rocastle completed the rout in stoppage time to secure Oldham's fourth win in a row.

Doncaster beat Huddersfield 3-0 in their first game at The Keepmoat Stadium, with Mark McCammon (9), Paul Heffernan (47) and Jonathan Forte (51) giving the fans reason to celebrate.

Bristol City remain fourth following a 1-1 draw at Leyton Orient, with Lee Johnson's effort (68) cancelling out Matthew Lockwood's penalty (62) for the home side.

Chesterfield upset the form book to claim their first win in five games against high-flying Blackpool, with first half goals from Kevan Hurst (13) and Caleb Folan (42) securing the points.

Swansea heaped more misery on Brentford as an Adebayo Akinfenwa strike (29) and Karleigh Osbourne own goal (41) helped them to a 2-0 victory and fifth place in the table.

Yeovil, looking to strengthen their play-off credentials, were held to a goalless draw by Northampton.

There was late drama at Dean Court, as Brett Pitman pounced in stoppage time to give struggling Bournemouth a much-needed 1-0 win over Brighton.

Darren Byfield scored a second half hat-trick against Gillingham to take Millwall out of the relegation zone.

Gary Mulligan (10) had fired Gillingham ahead, but Chris Zebroski levelled (38) for The Lions and Byfield (50,79 and 85) ran riot in the second half to leave the final score 4-1.

Rotherham slipped back into the bottom four as they lost 2-1 at Tranmere. Delroy Facey (81) did find the target for The Millers, but it was too little too late following Shane Cansdell-Sherriff (28) and Gareth Taylor's (43) early goals.

Carlisle beat Bradford 1-0 at Brunton Park thanks to Karl Hawley's 26th minute strike.
