Few rules where refs seem to be inconsistent just wondering if even notts_ref knew the rules concerning:

Offside - passive/active and all that
Handball - How do refs tell whether it's a foul, also wouldn't it be easier if every time the ball touched a players hand a foul was given?

The way I uhderstand it:

If the ball is played and the player who recieves it has less than one defender between him and the goal he is offside. Simply that.

If another player who is there interferes he would then be considered offside.

Handball is and always will be a common sense thing.

That's how i understand the offside rule too, but refs are so inconsistant with it, it's annoying.

Also refs and common sense don't go together:D
