blimey i didnt see that coming. Im surprised actually, but i surpose the results havent been going his way in recent games. I wonder why hes gone?
looks like ferguson will be staying then?
Blimey! First exciting thing that's happened in SPL for ages:nodyes:
It was going to be hard for him after Ferguson, born and bred Rangers, had the crowd behind him rather than the manager. I always felt sorry for PLG that his religion was brought into the matter by Rangers fans because religion has no place in football

Sorry if I'm talking bollocks but that has to be a good thing, as soon as Le Guen took over, the club was full of corruption and everyone was turning against each other like hearts are doing.
I never knew McCoist had a coaching badge. :th_coffeeanim:

You should see the list of potential people that could take over. Walter Smith, McCoist, Sven, Moyes, even Barry Ferguson if you want 100/1 outside chance.

With regards Moyes - not sure how an ex-Celtic player would go down as Rangers manager?
Sven
I think it will be because he has alot in common with Scottish people, mainly that he wanted England to do badly in the World Cup

Yous all know that i havent been to Ibrox whilst PLG has been manager,I strongly believe that a catholic should NEVER manage Rangers Football Club.at least now i can go to Ibrox again, but i wont be going if Moyes is appointed. For me it would be Sir Walter Smith with McCoist beside himAs for fatpipes quote-

You werent saying that during the Walter Smith era.
I think we ask Barry Ferguson who the new manager is gonna be.Personally i think Barry is passioate about Rangers, and he hates people around him who dont share that feeling But is it good for football in general when a player at a club becomes more important than the manager??
aye Watty was a good manager even i am big enough to admit that, but thing's change and as for Ferguson can't be good for the club when one player seems to be the be all and end all ,Yes the Gers are in a bit of a mess but as much as it is le guen 's fault it is also Ferguson's one last thing who next for manager because only Mr Smith could actually keep fergie in line because any other manager is always gonna have in the back of his mind that he cannot upset Mr Barry the Ger or he will lose his job

youre takin the piss surely
barry might be the best player at rangers but hes never captain material
nevermind should he have influence over a manager
a real captain lifts the team, provides moral and grabs the game or players by the scruff of the neck when needed
which of those can bazza do, a great player but thats what he should concentrate on
Do you think its right a player goes squealing to the press over his boss?
Do you think its right a chairman backs a player before the manager?
Ok we dont know the whole story yet, but something stinks about this
One thing though the jambos must be pissing themselves about this
Theres the hearts fan wondering what farce his club will descend into next, and the Rangers go at top everything Vlad the Mads done in a few days
Sir David Murray needs to come out and tell the facts, sort this out once and for all and unite the fans
This is my saddest day as a rangers fan, not because we got rid of the manager, but because of all the stories it stinks of betrayal to our once proud club
By which of the three parties invovled. Who knows

What has football got to do with religion?
A Partick Thistle fan I knew that had no time
for Celtic or Rangers when discussing religion
and football used to say
"turn your clock back 200 years you are
entering the west of Scotland"
You really have to witness the hatred and bigotry
to believe it.
I am a Rangers fan and most of all want to see them
playing good entertaining football. We were all led
to believe that PLG was the answer to our prayers
in truth his singnings have been poor , albeit he did
not have much to spend, Our results have been
very bad (almost as bad as those of McLeish)
I really bought into the PLG dream but sadly it was
not to be.
Was it PLG's lack of understanding of our game?
Lack of funds?
Inheriting a very poor team?
Interferance from Scottish based players?
probably all of the above
On reflection I think that David Murray
must shoulder most of the blame for the appointment
of PLG it would appear that he was the wrong man for
the job.

PLG was not the ansewer for this we now know
If he Sir David thought he was, PLG would still be there, he would have got him to stay no matter what
But why has DM let PLG walk, has he put barry ferguson before the manager, if thats the cas its a sad day for Rangers Football Club

Not surprising at all. PLG has been a disaster as manager. He brought in all young, French players who largely didn't do jack all. Brought in Letizi, who proved to be a total clown. McGregor made him look like a fool with his good form this season. He fired 3 players for minor disagreements and can barely manage to get his team to hold onto 3rd place.
Change is needed, it's time for Gers to cut their losses right now and start building a stable base, with a sound plan for next season.

Some things never change, like Supersally's shameless bigotry. I'm glad he has a forum here where it is tolerated and condoned. As for PLG, it's a shame he's now gone. But the Vatican lads will be delighted to see him again. And he can bless himself as much as he likes now. I can remember all the Rankers fans telling us he was the best manager in the world prior to joining Rankers. Is that Walter now?
Aye and he can take the rest of the shite with him,I never want a big jock knew scenario at Ibrox!

The same Gough as in the story that was Proved totally unsubstantiated, and actually involved a reporter getting some random druggy to bring this up???Or the torbett thing as in proven guilty in a court of law and jailed? The same Torbett child abuse at celtic boys club that Alan Brazil spoke of in his book, and several others have too??
Personally i dont see a comparison!!

People like yourself embrass me about scottish football
Why bring religon into football
Why put one man before your club as you have done by refusing to back the then manager by refusing to turn up at ibrox whilst he is charge, because hes catholic
Why bring up the BJK at every opportunity, this may be a sad part of scottish footballs past, but its in the past why would any self respecting scotsman remind the world of one sad individuals failings,
We all as supporters care about traditions, but a true supporter backs the club at the match no matter what
and that get fondled signature, i can only guess the other adim dont get what it means
Posts like this is why the scottish forum is dead
the gough thing never went to court because of a threat made to one of the witnesses anyway you are judging all to be the same , I am not any of the thing's you say apart from a supporter of a football club which i was brought up to go and see ,Why all the hatred because of some brainless feckers from years gone by

Well said. Supersally represents everything that is repugnant about Scottish football and he wouldn't get away with it in many other places. To stop going to Ipox simply because of the religion of the manager is sad. What about those catholic players still there?? Answer that sally. As for Big Jock knowing, that is indeed insubstantiated. But I'm not about to dishonour a dead man who can no longer answer that. Anyone who does is just vermin in my book.

It's sort of ironic that Superally is one of the ones wh spoke out and was outraged about RFC and his confrontations with some Celtic fans on the forum, yet here he is preaching his dislike for catholics and with a sig that is aimed at pissing off the tims on the site.
I really don't want to get involved in this whole thing, I'm one of the people that believe religion and football don't mix, but I would just like to point out the irony of this whole situation.

other teams have a very bad section of support.

Sally and RFC had the same agenda although RFC was just stupid and embarrassed Sally so I could see why he wanted rid. I'm not bothered about his dislike for catholics, I just think it's sad. Also I don't know why it's constantly put in the mix everytime there is an Old firm discussion. Still, it's not as bad as it used to be. Back when those two were best buddies it was impossible discussing football on here. At least the new Rankers want to talk football. No matter how painful.
