Super Leeds bombed out again at the first hurdle, that's one win now in four campaigns (Lennon agreed to play in the one win), Man City went out at the first with Sturridge playing.

Anyone think they might do something this year?

No one fancy their chances then?

I'm going to our match next week, I've not seen most of our youth team yet so I'll have a better idea after that (presuming we win).

They won last week's easily (against Maclesfield) kinda meant to get an Echo to see the team and that i.e. not Bostock, whatshisname C/B, and little Jose Baxter might have been on the bench.

It was Rodwell I was thinking of. Just came to me.

Rodwell played, bit of a buzz around him now.

Rumours were that Chelsea were sniffing around a few months back.

Haven't a clue to be honest. I think we beat Scunny's youth team the other week though.

Man U probably have a good chance, the England u16 lads Oliver Norwood and Nicky Ajose might be too young to do that much but they've got that older Brandy lad who got two in the last game (4-0 I think).

We did pretty well last year, got to the fifth round and only lost on extra time to Newcastle, sadly not in it this year, I think we lost to Yeovil

Interesting clash tonight with Chelsea going to Anfield.

Presumably Chelsea will prevail.

I see it's the Palace game tonight. England's future midfield superstar John Bostock should be involved and top prospect Victor Moses.

(The Pool beat Chelsea by the way 2-0)

Well if you do get your lazy arse down there tonight, let us know how Kissock, the one named after the Wolves ground, and Rodwell and Baxter (if he gets on) perform.

LAZY???!!! I've ran 25 kilometres the past two days :D

Should be there, the players you mention are the ones I was planning to keep an eye on myself. Think Baxter's probably a bit young to be playing though.

Mmmm. Might be eh.

I suppose in a couple of hours you'll decide you need to wash your hair eh?

I came, I saw, I froze my bollocks off.

Lost 1-0.

Rodwell - Seems to have a good footballing brain, good passer of the ball, didn't have much to do defensively (was played left-back).

Kissock - Some nice touches, you can tell he's got quality, but wasn't really in the game. Think he would have done better if he'd been in midfield instead of the "free role" with one up front.

Molyneux - Didn't really stand out.

Apart from them the left winger (don't know his name) caused a lot of problems with his pace, had good control but didn't really show an end product.

The lone striker covered a hell of a lot of ground, showed good pace and was good holding the ball up with his back to goal.

What a man eh. To think some people doubted him.

Shame on em I say. I read in the post Kissock was man marked, and it nullified him. Millwall do seem a tough side, I think they only beat Man City in the first round after 0-0 aet on pens (and Sturridge was playing).

It's the big one tonight Man U v Palace. Hopefully Bostock (Palace)will be involved. I'll be watching it on MUTV so might put up half and fulltime scores just in case anyone is vaguely interested.

Bad news Bozza's not even on the bench. Danny Welbeck(16)England u17 lad starts on the right. He looks a hell of a talent. Also Fabian Brandy up front.

And Victor Moses (16) for Palace.

Kick off in a mo. I can tell you're all interested.

1-0 HT to United. Hewson knocked in a Welbeck cross.

Very fast and competitive game, with United looking the more likely. Welbeck had a few good efforts.

Magpies steal the show

Swindon Town 1-2 Newcastle United
Sixth Round Proper
Monday 12 February 2007
The County Ground

Swindon Town youth team manager David Byrne hailed his side after they narrowly missed out on a semi-final place in the FA Youth Cup following a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat at home to Newcastle United.

With just three minutes left in extra-time, and the home side down to ten men following the dismissal of skipper Chris Allen, Dave Carroll headed United into the last four and a tie against either Sheffield United or Liverpool, who play on Thursday evening at Bramall Lane.

But Byrne remained upbeat at the performance and was full of pride at his side's efforts.

He said: "We are disappointed, that's for sure. I am devastated for the boys because we showed a magnificent attitude and determination after going down to ten men.

"The boys have done the town of Swindon proud and I have never worked with a bunch of lads who have shown so much endeavour. They really got stuck into it."

The Magpies took a first-half lead when 15-year-old forward Ryan Donaldson headed home from close range midway through the first half.

Swindon were back on level terms after the break when Lukas Jutkiewicz thumped a 25-yard drive into the left-hand corner and beyond Newcastle keeper Mark Cook.

The tie looked destined for a penalty shoot-out until Carroll's late, late winner.

"We sat off Newcastle at times and they have two lads out wide who would cause anybody problems," added Byrne.

Man U beat Brum 2-0. All United in the first half, with Brum getting a grip and having a go in the second.

Should be an interesting two tie semi with the Arse.
