Hillsborough, in particular the ex-editor of the sun continuing to claim he didn't lie about it.

They do hold a grudge don't they Scousers.

Yeah they do. Perhaps you want to tell us why. It'll be better coming from you.

You're the one who made the statement, can't you back it up? If not it can't be taken seriously.

The refusal to buy the Sun gives away the grudge side of it. Then there is the reputation Scousers have of being victims, and a surly mean spirited humourless bunch to boot.
FourOneFourOne
07-01-2007, 17:56
So you think Scousers see themselves as victims because they have a reputation as such?
No wonder you love Littlejohn.
Why don't they get over it, rightly or wrongly scousers will always have a reputation for stealing etc. whatever the ex-editor of the sun says. I think they should realise that people exist as individuals, that's my opinion anyway
I want to know what they want justice for? Or how justice is achieved?

The sun didn't just accuse liverpool fans of stealing, they accused them of p***ing over dead people and saying they wanted to rape dead women.

Yes, self pitying nauseating stuff.
But how will justice be achieved? Summarise.
If everyone from the sun and the police are arrested and shot?
What about justice for Heysel?
FourOneFourOne
07-01-2007, 18:11
By holding the police who caused the tragedy accountable, which they haven't been.
14 people were convicted of manslaughter after Heysel.
The fact is it was a terrible accident and in the past. Let it be stop ramming it down everyones throats at every opportunity. Take a leaf out of Bradfords books.

Just out of interest, what's that supposed to mean?
FourOneFourOne

The only reason you could give for seeing Scousers as wanting to be victims was that it's their reputation from people jealous they aren't from the world's greatest city. Seems to be a bit of a Littlejohn trait to me.
No need to look at the facts, or even do any research. Just say what will cause a stir.

Whereabouts?
I'm lifting this of RedIssue because I agree with it:
Speak to a Liverpool fan, anyone from Liverpool, and ill bet they knew someone killed at Hillsborough.....ive yet to speak to a single one who didnt. Those poor 96 victims must have been the most well known people in the city.
Makes you wonder how much of this whole Hillsborough thing is about being a 'top fan' and making yourself look good rather than actually giving a fuck about the innocent, responsible, ticket holding, early arrivers that died.
As for responsibility all ive heard so far is that everyone jibbed and pushed in those days so it couldve happened to anyone and therefore its the fault of evryone else.
Well everyone speeds so does that give that coach driver who crashed this week an excuse when he stands in court?
Without a doubt it was a tragedy and it no doubt could have befallen any big club , even the biggest, but it didnt; it befell Liverpool and for the last 17 years all we have had is bleating about justice for the 96 and use of the disaster by the people of Liverpool for their own means to show how united they are.
What we should have had is an acceptance of their own part in the disaster , the prosecution of officials involved a dignified mourning period followed by a long hard period of self reflection by the people of Liverpool regarding the part they played.
Attacking everyone else to hide your own shame will not wash for much longer and neither will the use of this disaster to show what a caring united city Liverpool is.
For fucks sake - Remember your dead in dignity and move on with pride.

I won't comment any further on Hillsborough, I (thank God) wasn't personally affected, and not being a red I don't know as much about it.
My opinion is it's only fair to let the people who were affected get on with it how they like, I don't see why it upsets people?
Come on 4141, everyone knows no new inquiry will be open, old wounds are constantly reopened by these things. Let it be, move on.

Bullshit.
I notice you didn't post that on FC because you know there's plenty on there who could put you right on that

I don't think it was the polices fault. It was all the people who turned up to the ground without the tickets. If they had not have turned up, then non of this would have happened. Simple as that really.

Iv not seen this thread on F.C, But its not bullshit, its was easy for the Pool fans to blame the police, but Liverpool fans were crushed by other Liverpool fans. Dam scalies allways think there so hard done by.

For once i'm going to have to agree with you. If they had not tried to get into the round none of this would ave happened.

Well, you and BB obviously know more than Lord Justice Taylor, who saw all the evidence and put NONE of the blame on Liverpool fans.
But don't let that get in the way like.

Its obvious that is what happened.

These are reports from sheffied wednesday fans. Reporting Liverpool fans smashed out their faces and turning up without tickets.
Anyway i'm going now, i'l be back on tomorrow.

It's worth reading this reply:
A few sane voices on here, mostly drowned out by the sea of sheep - once one person mentioned the 'lot of Liverpool fans totally smashed' (which was later reduced to 'several' by the same person), the floodgates opened.
People saying that pubs were drunk dry, people who say they work in Liverpool, even complete oxygen-thieves who simply hate Liverpool and it's people.
I don't expect any of you people to visit this site, but if you do, your eyes may be opened just a smidge:
http://www.contrast.org/hillsborough/
And don't bother replying to this post, as I certainly will not be wasting anymore of my precious time reading this utter rubbish.
Goodbye, and enjoy the Coca Cola League 1 (or the 3rd division as it is really). You and your 'football club' deserve each other.
See you later :)

Bollocks.
Yep, it was a lot easier for a judge to blame the police, when everyone had made up their minds it was the fans (who were seen as scum of the earth at the time)
Right lets look at it this way, liverpool knew it was an easy jib so shitloads turned up and tried it on. If they weren't let in they would have been crushed at the turnstiles the other option we all know what happened.
Now fans jibbed it and still do and what happened could have happened to any set of fans but it was Liverpool this time. Too many turned up and caused a crush.
Is it entirely their fault? I don't think anyones trying to say that. But they are a contributing factor to the accident.

We are going to go round and round on this one, i know this for sure. But think of it this way, if the fans with tickets only turned up then this would not have happened. But fans (some drunk) turned up without tickets and having them turning up caused this whole event. You can't put all the blame onto the police as it looks like they are trying to do.
