Many people say this, yet its proved that there is a hell of a lot of decent English players in the English leagues. In the National team, only 1 player plays for a foreign team. That player is Owen Hargreaves (Bayern Munich)
I compiled a list of upcoming English players who will make a massive impact in England's National Team in the upcoming years. These all play for English clubs in the Premiership.
Joey Barton
Jermain Defoe
Dean Ashton
Ledley King
Michael Dawson
Tom Huddlestone
Robert Green
Stuart Downing
Theo Walcott
Aaron Lennon
Callum Davenport
Rooney (Yes, although it seems he's been around for donkey's years, he is still young)
Michael Carrick
Shaun Wright-Phillips
James Milner
Jermaine Jenas
Darren Bent
Ashley Young
Micah Richards
Justin Hoyte
Anton Ferdinand
Nigel Reo-Coker
Matthew Etherington
Jermain Pennant
Peter Crouch
Matthew Taylor
Kevin Nolan
Oh, the list is endless. Every single player mentioned their have bright futures for England, and most of them are familiar and we all know them. Some are already playing for England are doing well.
But people still argue there is not enough decent or English players in the English Leagues, although its starting to be took over by foreigners, there is plenty of decent or English players in the premiership.
Maybe their quality is not as good as some of the players from different countries in England but they are still regulars in English football and are making it what it is.
Take Tom Huddlestone for example, he is only 20 and has played a grand total of 12 games for Tottenham. But he is aspiring to become one of the best players in the premiership and already pushing for his place in the England squad. The way he plays is only found in England, you don't see teams like Barcelona with players who can take to any game like he does. Incredible strength for a 20 year old.
Another example, Theo Walcott. Still only 17 and his pace is phenominal. Where else is their a player as young as him playing in a bigger league? His pace scares most defenders and he isn't even a regular starter. There is no striker quite like him in other leagues across the globe. Incredible speed and ability for a 17 year old, who doesn't play regularly.
England have many decent players, some of them will be pushing for the best player in the year, probably, in years to come. I can think atleast 3 of them have a good chance of it.
Most, if not all, the players above will surely be involved in the next World Cup as their incredible talent will be acknowledged in the time they have, 3 years.
There are a few English players impressing in the lower leagues aswell. Eastwood and Upson being 2 of those.
Don't tell me there isn't enough English talent in the English leagues because there is more than enough. A lot of young English players are getting the experience they need, to be big hits in the cups.
But please discuss... You should get what I mean even if this doesn't make too much sense.
