Yep, its true... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/6248835.stm

Theres still a lot of opportunity and interest from clubs in the EPL and other leagues around the world which i'm sure will be linked in a rumor soon enough. We just have to hear about it every week until he does leave.

I don't think he'll go back to the premiership because he's said before he doesn't want to play against man utd in the premiership. Also he has 'done the premiership' and probably wants a new experience. Like Blair he also probably sees America as somewhere he could work in some capacity

If he is leaving, I've got two words for him: TORONTO FC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doubt he would come to Toronto, although it would get me to go to a game or two :nodyes:

Although MLS may be attractive, I think he may follow the cash.... either Italy or follow Figo to Saudi Arabia (?)

I suppose the Becks for England brigade are a bit quiet these days?

*Ahem* Did somebody mention the fact that Beckham has been unfairly forced off of the national team and that they've been shit since they dropped him?

The decision has been approved and Beckham will go to LA Galaxy at the end of the season.

Atleast that cuts out a lot of drama in papers about "Guess what club Becks will go to!!" rubbish.

Goodluck to him, hope he does well over there.

$250 american but I heard that that is also for his advertising rights? is this true now that the L.A. Galaxy owns the "Beckham image"?

That might be true. I believe right now as it stands, Real Madrid get a percentage of Beckham's deals. Which is mainly the reason why they (Madrid) wanted to keep him. THis is literally going to be big for the rest of the MLS Season and then it will dissappear. People in the states will at first be drawn becuase it's Beckham but it will soon wear off. 1$ million US per week is a lot of money ad he says he's not doing it for the money, i bet. It basically confirms that his career with England is over and will never play another cap for England unless of course maybe they tour the US and it's some sort of publicity stunt or some sort of similar gimick. Apparently Victoria has been house shopping for some time in the US and i know Davie boy was supposedly getting his American driver's licencse not so long ago which is probably true now. Obviously we know who really wears the pants in the familiy

All I can say is I wish he hadn't married her... He was a better player before he got married. Even so, I'll definitely be at the game when LA visits Toronto for the first time... I'm not going to miss a chance to see my hero in action.

He'll be worth more than that let me tell you lol.

Its about 80p a second Beckham is on I think.

£48 and hour or something like that.

westboy
12-01-2007, 15:10
82p a second:nodyes:

The celebrity obssessed culture in America could mean that LA Galaxy can justify these wages. Let's face it he's not being paid this much to play football - it's his commercial value.

Ronaldo
12-01-2007, 15:10
I know, i looked back on it just now lol
Did you work that out or was it on the news?

RedRabbit
12-01-2007, 15:10
actually only a 1/5 of the 250 million is guaranteed for the five years. The rest is based on endorsements
so that would 10 mill. yr ---- 2mil per yr --- approx 38K a week = aprox. 19k GBP per week (guaranteed)

Capello announced today that he's benching Beckham for the rest of the season. Linkage (http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/article.jsp?content=20070113_104236_6072)

Ronaldo
13-01-2007, 15:16

Still had 2 or 3 years left in him to carry on playing in Europe
