Some people love Mourinho, some hate him...

Some people say he is a great manager, some say he is ok, some say he is a kid in a candy shop!

So what makes a great manager? Let's find out by choosing the best managers in, then deciding who is the best from our own individual lists...

Which PREMIERSHIP manager...

1... has satisfied the clubs fans the most?

2... has managed to bring the best from his squad of players?

3... has the best eye for a bargain?

4... has found success at every club he has been at?

5... has potential to succeed?

6... is the best foreign import?

Once you have your six (or less if you have duplicates), tell us who gets your overall vote from that list.

My answers...

1. Alex Ferguson (hate to say it)
2. Sam Allardyce
3. Sam Allardyce
4. Rafa Benitez
5. Sam Allardyce, imagine what he would do with money.
6. Arsene Wenger

Overall... Though Ferguson is clearly from a rare breed when it comes to managers, I am going to go for Big Sam for what he has managed to do with little in the way of money. He has taken a small club and turned them into a decent top flight club, whilst taking on players who have hit a career wall and helped them overcome it. Forget your foreign imports, Big Sam is your man!

Tough one, but Ferguson wins it for me. He was able to split up the old firm with Aberdeen (think I'm right but it was before my time) and has had sustained success with Man Utd.

Mourinhio probably second. He is also an excellent manager but doesn't have the CV that Ferguson does. He won the Champions League with Porto which is probably still his greatest achievement. He showed that he could bring success to a small club in a big pond, however as well as this he has brought success at Chelsea. Although people say it's easy to win if you have the money, it's not, Ranieri couldn't do it and you have to let players gel etc. Easier said than done.

Then Wenger and Coppell just for their knowledge of the game. Wenger hasn't got a perfect record, but Coppell hasn't managed at the highest level.
