View Full Version : Blatter has a good idea!!!

I think this would be a good idea, one of very little from him recently. I get really bored with no football to watch in the summer. But I do love the Christmas periods in the leagues.
Opinions on this?

it's a terrible idea
it ranks up there with the worst he's had (i still think his best was the womens game having tighter kits)
the summers for holidays- winters for football. i mean think about it, bovril would go out of business if it was a summer sport
I think it would work...
Personally I don't think there should be football at Christmas as attendances suffer
1) Football isn't always a family game in terms of attendance
2) Most people are skint and if you don't have a season ticket or are away you can't afford it
3) Quite a few people go away over christmas.
The main problem is that players would not be as fit for national games. Also football is not a summer sport and would suffer because of the major cricket, tennis, F1etc events.

Not a summer sport?!? Well, here it can only be a summer sport, with winter and all. But I don't like a his idea. A summer league would affect summer competitions like the WC. So I have to say it's not a good idea.

Nothing beats the atmosphere of a night game with the floolights one, and for the next 2 months it will be that way for 3pm kickoffs. Keep it as it is... gets too hot in the summer anyway.

Why change it after so many years of being the way it is now? I say leave the damn sport alone.

yes i love the football around the new year its the best time i think. Without the boxing day football it would be rubbish really. Its like a tradition and I for one do not want this changing at all, its worked like this for over 100 years and there hasn't been a problem until now, as the players are pussies.
Keep it how it is. I mean the World Cup and EC are all in the ideal slot in the summer. Everyone can get to them and you want a holiday in them months not being couped up sweating to **** in a boozer (for some).
Decent idea not fully thought through I reckon.

They have the perfect job. Getting paid to discuss football, half their ideas don't even get the go ahead. I think they just sprout out random ideas so they look like they are getting paid for doing something.

Half? About 3 quarters don't even get close to being added and that's only the ones that get far enough to be announced to the press.
I for one think this would be a terrible idea, i love the winter games, much better atmosphere and the fun of taking your shirt off to celebrate in the freezing cold is much more appealing. I want to be out with mates in the summer going on holiday not going to the football. Would be nothing to do in the winter, especially over xmas!
