FITZ`S VERDICT ON THE DISMISSALS
Following the sending off of both David Partridge and Che Wilson in Saturday's game at Yeovil, we asked Scott Fitzgerald for his thoughts having now presumably seen the match video.
He said: "Unfortunately the first incident is not covered on the video as the camera follows the ball as Nathan throws it out towards Paul Brooker. However the referee, who on Saturday after the game said to me that he had dismissed David Partridge for intent, followed it up with his written statement, received by the Club this morning, saying that "he clearly witnessed Partridge head butt an opponent". Even though David said that didn't touch the player and Leon Best said that there was no contact and he in fact was prepared to be a witness, with the lack of video evidence we are unable to appeal."
"With regard to the second dismissal, having watched the incident on video we concur with the referee in that Che appears to make contact with the forward prior to the ball and thus we will not be appealing against the automatic one match suspension."
I find it disgraceful that this ref, does not have the dignity to accept that he might actually have made a wrong decision. Surely if the so called "offender" (David Partridge) denied doing it and the guy he was supposed to have headbutted (Leon Best), said there was no contact then it is a no brainer.
This kind of stuff is why refs get so much abuse, some are too stuck up their own arse to ever consider that there not actually the best ref in the world (why they are reffing at a shit level) and do actually make mistakes
