I can't understand what qualifies Pearce for the job. Yeah I know he was an uncompromising full back for England, but why should he be the man to develop the u21s?

Ray Wilkins an obvious choice has now been sacked as coach because Pearce wants his own men in.

Yeah he might revert to bringing more City players in like some managers have done. He's done well at City with some youngsters and given them good experience. he works well with youngsters which might be what chose him

He may have good youngsters, but it's the stlye of play that concerns me.

It should be a full time position. If Pearce takes the job then it will be his "second" job, which isn't good enough. We need to have a manager who can give 100% attention to developing talent in this country. U21's isn't just about picking eleven players and trying to win a match it's about scouting players from the premiership, championship and even league one. He won't get a chance to scout players as most of their league matches will be at the same time as Man City's.

How are we supposed to do well when we can't rely on youth talent?
