Does Anyone Else Play Poker?

I need to stop as i've lost £50 in 4 days!!!! I need to find something else to do when i'm bored online!!! Can anyone help me!!

I've been playing online for about 2 years now. The key is to play seriously at all times. Some simple tips:

Only play hands that give you the best chance to win such as: JQ, QK, KA. If suited, the better. Any of those cards with a low, unsuited kicker are practically worthless and should be dumped, unless you see the flop very cheaply.

Play small connectors and small pocket pairs. Always play suited connectors, as long as it's not some absurd amount to see the flop. If in the big blind I like to raise with suited connectors often.

You can find more advanced tips such as when/how much to bet and why, how to trap an opponent and how to set traps, steal pots etc. It comes with time

I'm getting better but i've lost it over the past 3-5 days. I need time out I think. I have lost the patience with the game. But its hard to stay away from it.

You are going to loose money in poker, sometimes unfairly. You will call a guy all in with pocket kings (as I did last night), see his pocket 5's and think "HA! It's all over" until 2 more 5's come down on the flop and you are put out of the game. That exact thing happened to me last night. it's just the way the game works.

If you can't stay away then try playing with play money. It's free, and you get the practice you need. Treat it as if it were real money. Play seriously and tactifully. When you win a few games and feel your confidence is back up then try it with real money again. Just don't be afraid to loose it. If you play too defensively because it's real money then you have pretty much doomed yourself to failure. The same for playing too agressively in an attempt to win a few big pots and cash out with a profit. Pace yourself, play smart, and don't be afraid to loose pots here and there.

yeah, what I would recomend is just not playing. (yeah I apologise for everything I post tonight seing as I'm totaly gone/wasted) But not playing seems like the best option because I don't really see how you can win playing online... much better doing something else like taking a walk or steeling someones wallet...

Online poker is great as long as you know your limits, rather than playing in the cash games, just play some small single table games. Other than that, play on a site with Free Money tables and do input any card details!!
