Why has the European Championships 2008 been chosen in Austria and Switzerland? I asked this ages ago and the reasons were that UEFA have to rotate the selections fairly rather than keeping the Finals in the main footballing countries such as Germany, Italy and Spain. I looked at the list of likely stadiums that would be used and the top capacity is just over 32,000. But if there are stadiums such as the Nou camp, Bernabeu, Mestalla in Spain that hold 100,000 and haven’t seen a International competition for a while, wouldn’t it make more sense to play it there and have bigger atmospheres and turn-outs for a large competition?

I've just seen the list of stadiums, there alright. The Final is at a 57,000 stadium. the rest are all around 30,000. For a big tournament, the bigger countries such as Spain should have placed a bid, they have thre right staiums for a euros.
