View Full Version : Liverpool v Manchester United
It's ages away yet but it is a massive game for us and is important for Liverpool. I'm looking forward to this, hopefully for the right reasons. If it's an away victory we would be 12 points ahead of Chelsea who play at 5:15pm.
If we can win this and put in an impressive performance, would you say the title would be over as Liverpool are undefeated at Anfield and in fine form?
I'm being optomistic and going for a 1-2 win. Rooney and Ronaldo specials :)

United wants to win the title and cannot afford to give away presents to Chelsea. I think Sir Alex would fire the Red Devils up for this match. They would definitely play much better than they did against Fulham. United have to play 4-4-1-1, an effective formation against Liverpool. I think the key to this match is the battle for midfield control. I believe it is time for Carrick to pit his best and his distributing skills against a compact Liverpool midfield, especially against Gerrard and Alonso. Liverpool will need to deploy 4-4-2 formation. Two center forwards supported by two natural wingers and dynamic midfielders.

2-1 to Man Utd:thumbup1:
A tough game indeed, Liverpool are in good form at the moment, should prove to be a good game, hopefully.
Liverpool are strong at Anfield but are looking pretty ordinary at the moment. United's win at Fulham showed they could play badly and still win.
United win for me
This is larssons last league game, lets make it one to remember for him! Giggs is making an amazing 700th appearance :yikes:
So I guess he just has the Lille home game and then the Boro FA cup game.

Both teams are in good form at the moment, so its tough to call, but Ill go with a United 2-1 win, I reckon theyll scrape a goal from somewhere.

This a massive game for both teams
If united win then it edges them closer to the league title
If Liverpool win then it edges them closer to chelsea and a champions league spot but also perhaps lets chelsea back into the title race
I hope Liverpool win so im going with a 2-1 victory for Liverpool
Changed my mind on this one. Liverpool are immense at Anfield, United are playing like Champions. I can't see a winner, a draw would suit Man Utd nicely. I think Liverpool will go for the win, but I can't see them pulling it off
1-1

i wouldnt be happy with a draw, because potentially that could be the gap down to 4 points. if we lose then 3.

from watching the first half Sissoko is not playing too well. Poor first touch and giving the ball away to easily... he could be a liability for Liverpool
still 20 minutes left and 0-0. Saha on for Larsson.
scholes sent off for throwing the fist at Alonso :ranting: What's he doing?
4 minutes of added time, i'm actually happy with the draw, we've been under pressure for the whole game
0-1 goal in added time, fucking get in there :notworthy: O'shea is a legend :notworthy: Not deserved at all, this is a very important goal
Full Time!
What a win, fucking get in there. Premiership is ours for the taking!!!

A really one sided game ..... but still please with the out come...UNITED!!!! UNITED!!! UNITED!!!!!!!
Scholes sending off was wrong, he didn't try to hit Alonso, he was just punching the air in frustration at the ref giving the foul against him. Hopefully Utd get the card rescended.
here's the video of the o'shea goal, diserves it's own thread really :nodyes:

just saw the goal on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KcauZxpJk4), unlucky way to loose. Defense fell asleep for a second, goes to show what a brief drop in concentration can lead to. Utd have the title, can't see it changing now, but there is still hope!.
They had 50% more chances than us but didn't take them. We had 2 shots on target and it won us the game. If you dont take your chances, it will cost you.
