Spectators: 100,000 thousands devoted fans plus millions on TV & me lulu at home


Both teams return to Liga after being knocked out of Europe. Similair fortune to the 2 biggest clubs in spain.
disappointment , but no time to dwell

A Big Big Big Big match by all proportions
barcelona lost an important match to seville whcih would have at least kept them top with a draw or further their lead to 5 points if they won, which they should have
but the loss has been similar to a 6 point battle at the top
Seville lead by 2 points, Real madrid are 5 points from Barca
The title is by no means a 2 horse race, Real & Valencia still believe they have a decent chance
Real Madrid must win if the want to keep there chance of silverware this seaosn
or else it will be a 4th fruitless season, unheard of in Madrid

Barcelona on the other hand, have to win to stay close to seville & defend their title
its simply a must win match, maybe the most important this season
just jsut becuase they lost to seville, knocked by liverpool & lost the first leg to Real
their confidence is in dire need of a win

it aint going well for barca, they've lost a couple of games of late and have had reported bust-ups in the camp. i'm not sure about Real, they need to bounce back after Wednesday and if they beat Barca tonight it might be the title race wide open again..what's the points gap atm?

45 minutes of the first half
the first yellow on the foul on Guti didnt merit a yellow

the match has just changed
Sergio ramos should have been red carded straight for his foul on ronaldinho

oleguer sent off, second yellow..... will this lead to a Barca defeat, only the second half will tell.

Great game so far, plus very physical. I wouldn't be surprised of another sending off.

sounds like a wonderful game, pure entertainment is what you always get from these two teams. messi getting a hatrick shows you how good a player he is and will be when he's is his prime. Who scored the 3rd for madrid?

cristiano is a winger, messi a second striker & comparing them is hard, I am simply pointing out their contribution & impact on their team

messi has been a productive, team player since he burst on the scene some 2 years ago. even at 18 he was someone who can score , set up goals & give assests & dangerous free kicks, plus defend &tackle at times

ronaldo has always had a bag of tricks,& explosive pace. but he wasnt a good shooter on goal, 7 didnt use his abilities to make more of a direct impact, he should score more
though this season all came together for him, he is scoring, setting up goals & contributing to the overall outcome
