Israel are underestimated and will probably cause an upset. they're a good team with one or two notable faces - Ben Haim of Bolton and Benayoun of West ham. The good thing is we have Rooney back but are thin in the defence

I doubt they will cause an upset. It won't be as easy as some people make it out to be. There should be a few goals though. 3-1 to England.

no, the BBC can't be f**ked to put on the away games so Sky do it instead. the highlights are on BBC later though if anyone wants to see it.
We have to win this, do Russia and israel still have a game in hand? If we lose this, then the FA has to consider McClaren's position. At least Sven could get the job done even if it was 2-0 against liechtenstein :boat:

I see it turning out to be a shte 0-0 Draw..
I can't/won't predict anything, if we got beat by N.Ireland than the possibility of us winning or not are even in my eyes. Especially to the underdog countries.
I think we'll win but not 100% sure...
So....Lennon, Hargreaves, lampard and gerrard play. What's the formation? gerrard on the right with lennon left wing?

-England are giving Israel too much room to play.
-Rooney starting to get frustrated and fouling a bit
-tempo is too slow

My thoughts exactly!! Didn't understand why the long ball play after putting in Defoe. A give the ball and run kind of striker is no good in the air!

I don't get it. The whole English team plays in the EPL (except Hargreaves) and in international matches they play so slow?!?!?

Rooney's not the tallest of lads, he's only 5"8 I think. Hargreaves was about the only plus.
The talent is there in the team, but they can't seem to play together.. Pathetic really, 0-0 result like that against an average team is poor for 'our supposed standard'.
The U21 match against Italy was much more exciting than this.

Turned it off after 10 mins.. watching england is like watching paint dry lately... Mclaren needs to go now before we dont even qualify...

Its got to be partly the players faults aswell. If there drooping around the pitch or not giving it there 100% best, why should they play for their country, there isn't any point.
However, McClaren booted Becks because he felt he was just a 'name' in the team rather than even contributing enough to the squad. And then the ginge makes it gospel for Gerrard and Lampard to stay on even though they play crap compared to the player thats being subbed. Contradiction comes into mind on that one.
I was watching the U21's game earlier and they looked hungry for the win and that was in a friendly!
I'm glad that we've got the young stars to come, they look great so far.

A terrible game. Israel were negative and England lacked any guile. If England don't improve then the big games against Russia and Croatia coud undo them. But I can see some improvement.

We will probably scrape through this. I hope we do anyway, we wouldn't get enough shit from the Scots if they qualified and we didn't. I dread to this of a day like that.
First place and 2nd qualify and we are 3 points behind Russia who we still have to play home and away. We'll qualify, we have a long list of home games at the new Wembley coming up, right after the potential banana skins of Andorra and estonia :animatedfear:
