statistics and crap

ok, for an assignment (sports in society), i need to find statistics for 3 different sports. so i've chosen rugby, football and sailing.

i need to find out both national and local (england and dorset) statistics for:

-how many participate in each sport
-how many are employed in each sport
-how much money is made through each sport.

can anybody help me with this or tell me where i can find info?

i've allready emailed sport england and my local sport development officer but id be grateful if anyone has any information at all they could share.

thanks

you can try http://www.soccerstats.com
but this has stuff on attendance, i gather you're looking for participation (ie. recreational football).
