in the newspapers today they are all going on about how McClaren should leave now. But i don't think it was his fault that we didn't play well last night..the players were lifeless and didn't have any passion what so ever. i know we have had a bad run lately but is Mc Claren completely to blame...
discuss...

I don't know if McClaren is to blame, at the end of the day its the players whom are not performing. The players should be dropped or McClaren should bring in some more players inplace of the players who are not playing well at the moment.
No matter how bad the players are playing, they will play again the next game. There is really no incentive to play well. Other than getting to the world cup :).
Poor management = poor performance.
McClaren is not good enough. Fact.

Well it looks that way, but the players should play on top form every time, they are playing for their country at the end of the day and if that doesn't motivate them then I dunno what will.

if we look at the players indivdually we must have one of the most strongest teams in the world..let alone europe. are we at a point where we have too many egos on one pitch?
We need the finishing touch, ATM we cant score, like arsenal, we need a striker that will score every game!!
F*** OFF LAMPARD!!! WE WANT GERRARD!!!

I think McClaren is partially to blame. He needs to show that he is in control. Best way to do that is my pointing out that a position on the team is earned. Just because you are a starter on an EPL club, doesn't guarantee you will be on the squad. I think this will take egos out of the equation and bring in players that will play with passion. But is has to be done without fear of media repercussion. As well, McClaren has to drop more 'ego' players, as he did with Beckham. I think Rooney is one of these.

Smac has to go now before we dont even qualify...bring someone in that will knock these big ego cunts into gear, mclaren isnt the one to do that... the players need a good kick up the arse, and anyone who isnt on form needs to be thrown out the team...

BB the buck stops with the manager. The reason England aren't playing well is because players aren't taking their club form into internationals, rather than because their not motivated, not trying... Whether it's right to player Gerrard and Lampard together, or to leave out Defoe or whatever, the team who played Isreal last night should have beaten a poor Israel side, if you look at how well they've played for their clubs.
I don't think McClaren's tactics were wrong, I just don't think the team can play as well together, and I don't think there's the right atmosphere in the England match. These two factors aren't down to the players, it's down the manager.
Personally I'd give him a chance, unless we lose to Andorra, in which case the FA will surely have no choice. Even with a mediocre team, we'll surely qualify it's such an easy group, but the point is he's only been in charge for four games or so. If it was in club level, a manager would never be about to lose his job after the first four games, even if they were defeatts. I know there's more pressure, but you've got to give him a bit more time.

As a Scottish fan I hope you English members
will allow me to comment:
The Premiership is one of the best leagues
in the world
although Italy , Spain, Portugal etc may disagree.
Then we have the Brazilians
As has been said in many forums recently
the English team has the individuals to be a very good team
What is happening are the players out of position?
I was very unsure about the choice of current manager

:roflmao: you can wake up now :hahaha:
Would be nice to see Scotland qualify though for a change, just as long as England do as well, which we will.
McClaren should never have got the job in the first place. I'm glad he did though as if he never, he would still be at boro :nodyes:
bring in the kids, at least they have real passion.

I don't know why people blame the manager. He's doing exactly the same as all the previous England managers. Playing the same players as the last manager and using the same tactics. Ok so you can blame the manager but he's no worse than Sven was. Its up to the players to perform.

Nah! we need best manager for England!
