Can't believe people are making such a big fuss about it. A genuine apology is something you do when you personally are responsible for something. Tony Blair was not in anyway responsible for slavery. He has already expressed his sorrow for it happening. I'm sorry for it happening too, in the same way I'd be sorry to hear about someone's death, but not in the same way as if I'd punched someone and then regretted it.

I don't see how Blair, or anyone else alive today, can apologise on behalf of Britain when they weren't involved in it. To do so would just be a gesture with no meaning.

nobody around today should apoligize, they had nothing to do with slavery and they should be lucky that they live in a society with freedom. It sounds like P.C gone made abit to me....

what would be the point in apologizing? what would it achieve? say sorry, then what? everything would just go on as normal like it already is.

I fail to see what an apology would achieve. I'd rather an apology from the gangs involved in slavery TODAY, that would be productive.
