This is just an idea, but your points would basically be your goal difference. Say you won a game 4-2, the winning team would get 2 points and the away team would get -2 points. Or is this the worst think you have ever heard.

It was just an idea, I think it would make people more determined to score more goals. So the game would/should be more attacking in nature.

I nominate this the thread of the year bb ;)
Not good, becoz, Charlton, Watford and especially WEST HAM will get -99 points by the end of the season!

Under that idea this would be the table up to now, the number is their current place. Interesting but bad idea:nod:
1 Man Utd
2 Chelsea
3 Arsenal
4 Liverpool
6 Everton
8 Reading
9 Portsmouth
7 Tottenham
5 Bolton
12 Middlesbrough
10 Blackburn
11 Newcastle
13 Aston Villa
15 Man City
14 Fulham
16 Wigan
17 Sheff Utd
18 Charlton
20 Watford
19 West Ham

looking at that table, there's not too much change in it.
I dont think it's the worst idea ever, i heard them chatting about something similar on talksport, and their idea was something along the lines of, getting bonus points for high scoring games, so a team wouldn't sit on a 1-0

Yeah the table looks just the same, just a few changes of teams. The same bottom three and top 4. So its not really a bad idea. Like I said it was just a little thought I had.

That would mean getting points for Goals, that would make all teasm to jsut go for the goals, and not for posession or for any other good quality football, they would jsut be goal-hungry teams then.
I wouldn't support such stuff.
Problem is teams wouldn't bother to have defenders or even goalkeepers maybe, so you change half the nature of the game. You'd get stupidly high scoring games and probably alot of match fixing.
I know people don't like 0-0 draws, but the fact there aren't goals every 2 seconds in football makes it more exciting when there is one.
Think about it. Goals become more important so teams will become even more defensive to make sure they don't concede or concede less.
