PC or Mac?

What computer do you think is the best? I have never had a Mac but what I've heard is they are very stable and pretty damn quick. But I don't think a lot of software is available for them. Well not as much as there is for IBM computers. So knowing that, I would say that the IBM computer would be the best. We all know they crash but we have "autosaves" and other stuff installed to save work if they crash, they don't crash that much either, if you look after your PC and have virus protection installed.

What are your thoughts?

PC all the way. mac's look the part but, windows can be customized to look exactly like a mac if thats what your into.

You can have the best of both worlds now anyway. You can dual boot XP and OS X on a normal PC and vice versa. (as long as the mac is an intel mac)

Mac's dont have anywhere near the amount of software available to them as a windows pc.

As for crashing, I cant even remember the last time my pc crashed.

I sold a pc before and bought a mac. Literally 2 weeks later it was sold on and a new pc was bought yes:.

I find that I have all the same or similar software on my mac as i did on the pc, sometime it's even free. Who am I kidding?, I download all my software anyway yes:

I still haven't gotten rid of my pc at home, just got rid of windows xp and installed Ubuntu linux, which pretty cool itself

Yeah Ubuntu is probably the best Linux flavour going. I want to go to ubuntu instead of xp but the only thing holding me back is I can't get my monitor in 1600x1200@58. As soon as I can find a way, them I'm doing it. Pretty soon, vmware virtualisation will be built into the linux kernel and all windows software will run natively on it.

The same at college, the Design and Technology people have MAC's to design most of their work and stuff on.

But i've never had a MAC myself, and I got my PC custom made and it works a charm with all the new games, fast running and haven't had any problems with it.

I'm sure as time goes by, we'll see a range of software that MAC's will be able to use.
