CITY boss Peter Grant said he was hugely disappointed not to take at least one point from the clash with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
The Canaries were undone by a second half scorcher from Darytl Murphy, with the goal enough to keep all the points in the north east.
But Grant said he considered his team to have been the better on the day, and would have been disappointed even if they'd salvaged a draw.
"I thought we were excellent, that we played well and were disciplined in what we did," he said.
"We had to play with one striker because again because it was going to be too much for Thorny (Peter Thorne) to play two games in succession, and that was going to cause us a problem because I like bodies in the box.
"But I thought coming to Sunderland and playing the way we did I've got nothing but praise for the players. I would have been disappointed to have come away with a point, let alone losing three of them."
But Grant had no complaints about being denied a penalty in the second half when Darren Huckerby took a tumble in the box.
"There were a few near misses, people were saying it was a penalty kick but I'm not so sure. I think Darren was already going down when he was pushed.
"But as I say, coming to Sunderland, there's different ways to win leagues and championships. There's things I've got to take positives from. Gutted to lose the three points, but not disappointed with the performance."
