Make sure you vote tommorow!!!!!

If your over 18 and your region is having local elections, make sure you vote tommorow!

If you don't vote it's an insult to those people who gave their lives so we could have democracy and the right to vote without fear.
If you think all the parties are the same then vote for an independent candidate.
If you don't have an indepenedent candidate you like, just vote for the least worst one. If you don't vote the parties will carry on being the same as they think they can get away with it.

The French had a great turn-out and we need to make sure we do, so unless you don't believe in democracy...VOTE

Same here. Strange because my family have always been Labour supporters but none of us will vote for them while he's in charge. (I know it's a local election, but no-one ever pays attention to that really).

Saw a poll the other day which said that 61% of people thought he'd been a good PM, interesting.

I'm guessing your family traditionally voted labour because there left wing, well your not exactly voting for a left wing party by voting for Bliar and co.

Doesn't really matter who you vote for though just as long as we let the politicians know were interested

I don't do voting. Don't see the point. Whoever you vote for, you're just voting for more taxes, more wages only for every single thing to raise in price too, for hospitals and schools to be still under budget.

The only thing you're voting for, is who makes that happen.

I'm not contributing to nowt as far as voting goes. Just means I'm contributing to ensure that all of the above happens, which is a pile of wank really.

Iraq War
Student Loans
Global Warming

Surely you have opinions on these things for a start?

Yea I do have opinions on them - of course I do. But fact of the matter is, whoever we choose, we're living in the same circumstances but for different situations.

We're still going to be paying taxes which will rise.
We're still going to have to pay for health care and education.
We're still going to find litter on the street and people vandalising public property, then nothing getting done about it.

The only difference is, someone else will be in charge of that, regardless of who you vote for. Politics is one of those things that everyone hates and yet everyone has an opinion of every aspect of it - myself included. But at the end of the day, people say men fought to give us democracy and fair choice - well I choose not to be part of it. For the simple fact, I'm not contributing to the hierarchy of who rules financial crap supposedly to "better" the country, and yet funnily enough, it just gets worse.

You're barmy.

Ask someone in the 70s whether it is exactly the same as the 90s.

There is difference.

Anyway, my mum and stepdad voted Green.

That's the problem - we've got people with this attitude. You do realise by not voting your letting the politicians off the hook. Of course there going to do all this if they know that no-one will turnout. At least if we let the politicians know we ARE interested they might actually have to be more accountable to their decisions.

As for Greens I don't have much time for them but definitely better to vote for them than no-one at all.
