View Full Version : Some Possible New Changes for the New Season

We are thinking about a few new changes for the new season. I'm going to add a match discussion forum for each of the British leagues that we have on the forums.
Also we might be changing the current layout for the coca cola leagues. Instead of having them all in one forum, have a separate forum for the Championship, League 1 and League 2.
We need your feedback on these changes and ANY OTHER changes that you would like on the forum that would make you stay on the forum for longer and post more messages.
The post count has dropped the past week, it might be due to the season coming to an end but i'm not sure.
Thanks

Forums for different coca cola leagues sounds good enough, also more titty pics,
The Match discussion forum sounds good, not sure we could justify having seperate forums for each league at the moment though.
One thing I'd like to have is a 3 o'clock match day "chat room" thread or something every saturday so people who aren't at the match can talk about how their team are going, surprises of the day, how their bets are going etc. I know this isn't really a change, anyone can just start a thread, but I reckon making it a regular feature would be good, also because I'm not going to many matches next season.

that was practically the same as what i was going to say, i would really like a bit for individual clubs as it seems a mess and you cant find important news easily
I like the sound of this. It would somewhat make it easier to look up topics and look more tidy.

ATM its a mess and its so hard to find a certain thread. :nodyes: Sort it out lol

We did used to have forums for all Prem clubs.

It's not really if you can be arsed to look. When we had club forums people went straight to their club forum and posted about their club. Now they post about other clubs as well, not just their own.

I want club forums and I don't. They are good to find news about certain clubs, but then not all the posts get read and replied to. I know for a fact, I wouldn't go into another club forum well I didn't before, when we had then.
But they could be good for banter reasons.
I think we need a final vote, maybe only add premiership club forums for:
Middlesbrough
Manchester United
Arsenal
Chelsea
for the time being, and if we get supporters from other clubs or if the premiership forum gets too many posts from one club, then another club forum could be set up.

I think that's true and were a forum not a news site. I think alot of people (well I do) reply to recent threads on the top of the site rather than look in the forums, although I still think, at least at football league, it works better without forums.
Premiership might work for the popular clubs...

I think we do,since theyve gone so have most of the scottish members,Just me HH and Fatpipe now,tho commanche has returned now too.they were really busy forums. And we dont post half as much as we used too.
Maybe there could be an 'old firm' forum to get things a bit "heated":nodyes:

yeah i like the sounds of sperating fizz pop leauge and giving threads for clubs we have lots of fans of.
One thing i did think of, if we have even just 1 member and they support a team that we dont havea thread for, we could set one up for there team if they wanted and they could mod it themselves and ask them to post as much as they can in there,

And I don't think there should be seperate threads for certain clubs either... that's a pile of balls. Plus, it singles them out, as though those teams don't have enough glory support as it is!
We should have a Hartlepool thread though :nodyes: cos we're just fan flipping tastic (seen the non-swearing of 'flipping' there, did ya, did ya!? :D I'm getting good)

club forums should be back, games threads can still stay in ya new forum you made but club chat should be in their own forum.
Personally I prefer haing a 'coca cola league forum' then if there are popular clubs then add forums (maybe west ham lol). There are alot of threads, for example poolies 'for richer for poorer' one that are football league related but don't fit into just one forum and ultimately I think those kind of threads are better than just c+p/"news" threads.

her thread would have been better in the debates forum.
true but there's still other threads like that. Things like having one play-off thread instead of four...

mods need to do loads of merging then :D
If there was still one coca cola league forum...

OK well the way I see it is.......... your getting just a couple of hundred posts a day and more weekends when the pisshead threads and general chat threads when BB is on to make it a hundred or so more posts a day. Taking the club forums away killed the forum a bit because now members just post now and again about their club IF theres already a thread. Hammer has slowed down his postings he used to do because hes active on other forums now. I'd put the club forums back to see if members stick about more once they register and put a few more forums up that members think would be active. Then see how they would go. Only problem is because its the end of the season some of the forums will be looked upon and not working. I would let it ride for a couple of months to see if the post count and football talk comes back.
Yeah the problem is there aren't many clubs with more than one or two supporters here, when it comes to football league, but for premiership i think definitely have club forums.

We have the same problem on our forum, we just have a Coca-Cola Football League's forum only with I think leeds and southampton as sub forums, maybe if you have enough members of little leagues you could do the same. Just need to so get some members of the clubs you want

we need a Rangers and Celtic one maybe put it together
As I said before I think they should be put together for added spice but I don't post much in the scottish forums so i'm not the best person to judge. Do celtic and rangers fans think it would be best to have individual forums or an old firm one?

old firm forum wouldnt hurt, mods need to let the threads run a bit thought when the banter starts, I remember back a bit that it was modded to much.
to be fair i think mods have become more relaxed about banter as you've seen in certain threads...

I have added the 4 clubs as club forums. We'll see how it goes.
