Retro Ticket Prices For Last Day Clash

Quote:
BORO are reminding fans that tickets for most areas of the Riverside are just £10 for under-16s when the club turns back the clock on prices with an end-of-season Retro Day for the final game tomorrow.

The Riverside rewind will also see prices slashed on the club's award-winning programme, plus food and drink on the stadium concourses when Fulham are the visitors (3pm).

While tickets for under-16s are reduced from a usual £15 to just £10 in all areas but for the West and East Upper stands, prices for bitter, lager, burgers and chips return to the prices charged in 1995 when Boro first opened the Riverside Stadium.

Bitter is just £1.80 and lager £1.90 - that's a full £1 off both - while other prices include: wine £2.20, alcopops £2.10, burgers £1.70, cheeseburgers £1.80, chips £1.10, Coke and lemonade 90p, all hot drinks 80p.

Boro's matchday programme Red Square - voted Programme of the Year - will be reduced from it's usual £3 cover price to just £2. It will feature the results of a poll conducted on mfc.co.uk on the club's greatest players since 1986.

There will also be a return for the day of 'The Power Game', the club's Ayresome Park theme tune, which will be played along with modern-day favourite 'Pigbag'.

Great Boro games of the past will be screened on the stadium televisions and fans are being encouraged to wear old replica shirts.

A dozen former stars will be in attendance and fans will be invited to take part in a pre-match quiz on the club's history.

Boro's Communications Manager Dave Allan said: "The original idea for the retro day came from the fans' group, The Twe12th Man. We think it's a great way to sign off the season and hope supporters will back it by turning out in strength wearing their replica kits of the past."

Twe12th Man spokesman John Donovan added: "We hope all Boro fans join in with the retro day and take advantage of the generous concessions made by the club. It was a fans' idea but credit must go to the club for their willingness to listen and deliver.

"Dig out your old tops, squeeze into them, wear them with pride and enjoy a day for the fans. Create a great atmosphere to end this season on a positive note and to look forward to the next."

The Twe12th Man is committed to helping to improve the atmosphere at the Riverside and asks fans to contact them at www.twe12thman.co.uk with their ideas and thoughts.

Special guests who have been invited for the day include Craig Hignett, Alan Foggon, Curtis Fleming, Stuart Boam, Billy Day, Steve Vickers, Graham Kavanagh, David Mills, Frank Spraggon, Derek McLean, Craig Liddle, plus matchday hosts Jim Platt and Alan Peacock.

Tickets for the game are available now, priced from £24 adults and from £15 for over-65s, with under-16s tickets just £10 in most areas.

They can also be bought 24 hours a day via the club's official website at mfc.co.uk or by calling the tickets hotline on 0844 499 1234.
Sorry for the cut and paste, but its from the official site and you have to register to view the news. But this is great, I didn't actually know about this. Never mind!!

The retro pricing is a great idea... all the clubs should do that. Kind of giving back to the fans!
