Looks like Reading's Steven Sidwell may become Mourinho's first signing of the summer!
He's expected to undergo a medical on Monday at the Stamford Bridge, thus will no be playing this sunday in Readings last match against Blackburn

This will certainly boost Chelsea's midfield. Hope he does sign, he's a hard worker and great player!
... but will he be replacing someone?? :animatedfear:
hopefully frank lampard, i heard he can go for £8m with Barcelona chasing him
he shouldnt go there for his career's sake. He should go to somewhere like Newcastle where he'll get regular games and not sit on the bench every game. Dream move to Chelski my arse, he's only going there for the wage slip.

he will end up like Scott Parker as you are trying to explain probably
If it works out I think he can make the first team, I can't see Ballack staying long and combined with good luck he can get several starts, which is better than being a guaranteed starter at Newcastle where they don't have European football.
Not the first signing. Boro already signed Woodgate :nodyes:
Ayway, I think Sidwell will wreck the next few years of his career if he goes there. Chelsea are just seeing an opportunity to get in a good player for free and then keep him on the bench.

this is in the chelsea forum, if you aint realised!
Actually, no, I didn't realise :nodyes:
He should just cut out the middle man and go to Newcastle now, it's were he'll end up in 12-18 months anyway. Scott Parker anyone?
