he turned down the chance of playing for the team he supported as a kid (Rangers), to sign for Celtic on 25k a week. He cost Celtic 4.5mil with extra 1mil to be paid in the 2008/09 season
oh well his loss, that means he can never play for Rangers.
Do the Celtic Supporters think they paid to much?

Football isn't about loyalties it's about oppurtunities. What oppurtunity did he have for Rangers?

Funny, Tore Andre Flo wasn't a 'greedy bugger' when Rangers wasted 12 million on him. But then that was when Rangers spent 10 quid for every fiver we did. Not any more.

He should be a decent wee signing. He's young and hungry unlike some of the GERiatrics knocking around just now.

I think this was an 'alleged' agreement seeing as Smith hasn't yet confirmed any such understanding. Perhaps much of this has been down to some so called journalists telling us that Brown was as good a Rangers player at the time of Thompson's signing. I just don't think his agent would have promised his client away like this. Especially when he knew of premiership interest and the financial benefits that might bring Brown. Guys like Derek Johnstone now have egg on their face. They should never trust the word of an agent.

Its a job to him at the end of the day. If rangers only offereed 20k a week and Celtic Offered 25k per week then he would obviously go to Celtic. Its just a job, lets say you were going to work for Shell but they offered you 30,000 a year, then Texaco contact you, offering you a job for 40,000 a year, you WOULD go with Texaco.
