I'm looking at the table and the league has finished. Hibs are 6th with 49 points but Falkirk are 7th with 50 points. I'm sure this has happened before, any reason why??

It doesn't affect European places. The top 6 split. Only the top 3 get European places.

If you aren't in the top half come split day then thats it. You can't win the league. Your scenario is highly unlikely in any league but it would invite a clamour to end the system if it happened.

I thought the idea was to try and take some of the advantage away from the Old Firm?

Making it a bit harder for them to win every week by playing against the likes of Aberdeen and Hearts every week at the end instead of St Mirren.

Its seems very very stupid really. It makes no sense, surely the table is supposed to be sorted on points, how on earth can someone who has less points be above a team with more points?
