Is it just me who believes Frank Lampard to be one of the most overrated player in England?

He's neither. He's not a flop because he cost £8m, won 2 premierships and always scores 20 goals. He's not exactly Kaka though as most the goals he gets are fortunate deflected shots or penalties.

He's quality in my opinion.
Excellent player and would walk into the first XI at any team in the world.
He's quality. I think people use the fact he plays for Chelsea as a reason to dislike him. As I've said before he plays consistently well for Chelsea and consistently scores and sets up goals. Then he plays shit for England and people accuse him of not caring about his country but how many English players have reproduced their club form for their country under MaClaren?

He's a good player but I think he's overrated. He;s not consistent enough with his performances and noticeably the England performances.

Hes standard. He is consistent, yes, puts away a few, but not amazing. To put him against Gerrard, he'd come second.
Amazing would be the likes of Ronaldinhio, Kaka.

The thing is with Frank is that you would never say no to him in your team would you! So you can't really call him a flop, but then you put him in your squad and he isn't performing as good as he has done before so you call him a flop! Just wait til next season! believe me!
A flop? Weird choice of word.
He's a top centre midfielder, not as good as Scholes was in his prime but still very good.
Quality!! Who can say that hes not, we played 64 games in home without loss, he played 62+1 games with us...dont even dare to say that hes a flop, 20goals in how many season? i dont even remember and hes midd....hey boys go home and think again. :roflmao:
I posted this in another thread about him but I never understand how it is possible for Lampart to be overrated. Whether you like him or not he's one of the least rated players in the premiership anyway.

i dont think that he has lost his power, he plays almoust every game in a season and he is almoust every game top 3 player. He is quality.

Hate the f*cker but can't doubt hes a good player. Always seems to bang in the goals.
frank is in good shape at the moment, hope he makes some goals for england in qualify.:thumbup1:

Lampard is undoubtedly quality in the Premiership. But he hasn't really cut it consistently in the England set up, hopefully this will come.
With the excellent form of some of the other squad players in England's last few games, this makes the fight for places more competitive. So if Lampard gets the nod again, we may see better International performances from him.
But at the end of the day, it does not really matter who wears the shirts, it is the team performance and good results that are important. :thumbup:
It would have been interesting if he'd been fit this week and see how he plays without Gerrard (if he did) as Gerrard proved he can play well for England with a DM against Andorra, still I'd have Gerrard if they're both fully fit.

that's not even true.
I admit the first team squad is limited with english player, to just Walcott and Hoyte, but Hoyte's younger brother Gavin, is the reserves captain, and he, young Henri Lansbury and winger Keiran Gibbs, make up the 5 English players in tonights squad. No point having overrated English players for the sake of it.
IN respect to Lampard, i think he plays well in Chelsea's system, but doesn't have the attributes to fully contribute to the England cause, but no way is he a flop, but i wouldn't call him quality either.

Spot on dom. Lampard is the biggest flop out of the big four. He is hoggish with the ball...not creative which you need to be if you're a midfielder and he just generally always wants to shoot and be like Gerrard which he so cannot! which explains why most of his goals are bounced shots or big deflections.

Everyone seems to forget that without Lampard we wouldn't of gone to the world cup. He was top scorer in qualifiers and without those goals we wouldn't of gome anywhere. Everyone has off days! Lampard is a record breaker and a quality player!

yes thats true and he plays almoust every national and every chelsea game, so i cant blame him if he plays 2-5 bad games in 60 games. Hes a true pro and true blue:thumbup:
