Man Utd And Liverpool, in 5 or so years

Quote:
Red has a thought. Now seeing as Man Utd have won the league many times in recent memory (the last 15 or so years), and Liverpool have been rather stagnant in the Premiership, it is very much plausible indeed that United may surpass Liverpool's league title count in the next 5, maybe 8 years. Who knows, maybe even under the current manager. Ho ho ho. Supposing in these 5 years they also win Europe once more as well, would y'all consider United to be a bigger club than Liverpool?
Found this on another footie forum, though it would be good to have a debate about. We all know Liverpool have an amazing History, but like this guy says, if United win the league a few more times and the Champions League again, would you class United bigger than Liverpool?

Man Utd are way bigger than Liverpool, its just liverpool have the better honours list.Tho utd may well surpass that soon.It depends if they get a manager in the class of Sir Alex when he retires.

Pool top, trophy wise obviously.

Scum probably have it fan base and finance available.

They spent 60 million on players 2007, 39.4 million more than Arsenal.

Manchster united are bigger right now, Liverpool have a great history but overall are falling short at the moment. If they hold on to fernando torres and ryan babel they battle for cups and leagues for the coming seasons.

Liverpool

If Utd win another Euro cup they will still be 2 behind! thats if we dont also win it again over the next 5 years!
We still have the lead in titles as it stands so dont forget that.
Yes they get more fans but at least ours make a noise!
The new stadium (hopefully) will enable us to compete on that score soon anyway!
Liverpool have won 8 major European trophies! (and thats not counting Super cups). Man Utd, Arsenal & Chelsea have won 7 BETWEEN them.
If there ever is a power shift it will take a lot more than 5 years!!!!!!!!
