In '99 everyone hated United. In 2005 and 2006 people despised Chelsea yes they had alot of dodgy money. To be fair I think most neutrals preferred Man Utd to win the title this time but why do people hate successful teams, is it more than just jealousy? Even Arsenal who played some of the most attractive football got criticized during their unbeaten run for 'fielding too many foreigners'.

Personally I think it is just jealousy although sometimes it is other reasons.

Its not the team that I hate, its the glory fans that get me annoyed. I just wind myself up thinking how they are gloating on the team they apparently support. Then the next day you see the idiots out on the streets in their footy tops. But if they lose you never hardly see any of the tops.

I don't mind Manchester United well saying that I can't stand Ronaldo, Ferdinand or Rooney. Chelsea on the other hand I don't mind at all, same goes for Arsenal. But with Liverpool I just hate everything about them from the fans to the team to the manager.

I think Arsenal were fairly popular champions myself, it can be done but jealousy does play a fair part in it.

Is it co-incidence that the media seems to hate teams that win the title that liverpool have a rivalry with? ;)
