View Full Version : Gerrard And Lampard | Both or Just one?
What would you do? Would you play Gerrard and Lampard, or would you play one?
IMO i think lampard should be dropped because he always tries to make himself look better than gerrard by following him about but he isnt that good, Id play Carrick because he has a totally different game to lampard.
- BB, where is the england team logo? Put internationals in as well
I'd like to see what Hargreaves is like in the center with Gerrard, because the Gerrard/Lampard combination isn't working.
Carrick and Gerrard or Lampard then bring on the other as a sub when you need a goal
Lampard is a good player. Sadly he's been off form for a while now which makes him largely uneffective.
Gerrard and AN Other (Carrick, Hargreaves?) in the centre.
Kick out Lampard - he's only played well for us in Euro 2004. Bring in Hargreaves or Carrick which means one drop back and let Gerrard forward which works. Keep Beckham on the right purely because of his quality of crosses and passing. At left-back drop Cashley's ego and put Shorey who looks like he cares more about his country. I heard he had a good game last night aswell.

lampard is the most over-rated player in England in my view! he is way too hoggish with the ball and only takes shots...whereas carrack is a pass-master and a very good play-maker! in my opinion carrick and gerrard should be running england's midfield.

i forgot about hargreaves in my first post :icon_redface:
Most people do...but hopefully that will change now he's in England.
Oh and BB have you made the england icon thingy
It does seem strange having Gerrards name next to an FA Cup

I thought about this after England's friendly and after listening to 606 football phone-in and came to the conclusion that you can have both on the field. The reason they don't seem to work together at the moment is because the formation England plays with (4-4-2) forces one of these to be holding midfielder, something neither one is good at.
If you want to play both players England has to switch to a 3-5-2 or 4-5-1 formation. England needs a holding midfielder, be it Hargreaves or Carrick. And yes you would have to sacrifice either a fullback or striker.
Remember, a football match is won in the middle of the pitch.
