Dunno if this was posted already but at yesterdays scandanavian derby...referee Herbert Fandel (GER) abandoned the game on 89th mins. Just after he sent off a Danish defender and awarded a penalty to Sweden, he was attacked by a Danish fan . He was the Champions League final referee and looks like he's ended ANOTHER game early. But this is absoolutely disgraceful...these things should never happen in football regardless. I mean nothing is wrong with giving the ref a bit of banter for his decisions. But attacking him...thats wayyy over the top.

Referees are just doing a job, the fan should be fined heavily and given a criminal record. There is no need for any fans to go onto the pitch, 1. its a criminal offense and 2. there is no need for fans on the pitch.
Disgraceful really, from the fan that being. For his team to pull him away from doing, I bet they feel more embarrassed more than frustrated.
Referees are just doing a job,

No seriously the fan should be given criminal record. Nothing wrong with banter but any violence in football is wrong and unjustified.

yeh i agree but was watching that game and the crowd were really giving it to the referee and it was inevitable that someones patience would have broken loose.
stewards should have stopped him, but haven't seen how he got on the pitch so can't say

Yes the fan who came on is a right twat..but what makes the referee think he can award sweden with a 3-0 win..thats disgraceful, referees think they are bloody god these days.. what about the team above them in the league its not just these two teams the result effects

it finished 3-3.. sweden were winning 3-0 and denmark brought it back to 3-3
Then the whistle went and the referee gave sweden a 3-0 victory
That ref should never ref again
Should give the match to Sweden one way or another as if they don't Denmark will have drawn (or at least not haved to face a pen) due to a fan attacking the ref.

yeh i kno but the result is still to be confirmed following a UEFA Disciplinary Committee decisions following the referees match report....most likely going to be given a 3-0 win. hopefully denmark will know what a fan running onto the pitch to attack the referee will cost them.
Agreed they've got to set a precedent. What would have happened if Denmark had been losing 4-0?

The ref was attacked and abandoned the match. The default result is 3-0 so it's not him picking a random score is it.
And I think if it was 4-0 it would have been nulled and the default score of 3-0 went in.
I don't know how you can blame the ref in this instance, not his fault he was attacked!

I don't know how you can blame the ref in this instance, not his fault he was attacked!
People will blame the ref for anything 'cos they aren't willing to do it themselves, and fail to realise that no ref = farcial game.
They get decisions wrong, but they get some right too. But all you hear about are the wrong ones.
In this incident, Mr Fandel sent off a defender for violent conduct and awarded a penalty (quite correctly too). Then some nutcase runs on to the pitch and attempts to attack him. Somehow though, it's still the referee who is in the wrong.
And Mr Fandel can not decide the result of the match. That is up to UEFA, who will probably award Denmark a win and give them 2000 euros as a reward, given their record recently (spain comes to mind).

thing is without ref's you don't have the games ,So on that note i think he was quite right to award the 3-0 to sweden ,Some stoopid arse hole thinks he has the right to attack the ref over a game of football fook him mate he cost his team and country the match simple as
