Thats what some stupid person has written on another site. haha.

I don't mean to be controversial or as if I'm having a go but man Utd have just spent close to £50 million on 3 players and are supposedly looking into getting a striker as well.

When Chelsea spend this sort of money they are shouted down and told they are "buying the title" yet nobody seems to bat an eyelid when united do this.

Im not a united or Chelsea fan, infant i prefer united and wanted them to win prem this year and i am genuinely excited at seeing the prospect of seeing these possible future stars ply their trade in the prem, but why is ok for one team to spend and not the other.

Am i right to acknowledge this or am i just tired and in need of some sleep

How daft can some people get, United have got money through success. Chelsea on the other hand got their success from money. These are completely different things and should not be tied together.

Man United deserve to be buying these players, after their success theyve had they have the right to buy players, its not there fault they are good

Agreed. Chelsea weren't good before the money, they were losing to Bradford and Coventry FFS. We earned our money through success and merchandise - not because some guy decided he was bored.

No one buys the title.

Chelsea won it by being the better team over 38 games twice.

You have to be the best team. It's not as if United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle are skint.

What team wouldn't buy success if they had the choice/money, really. I don't care what you say, if any club has enough to money to just buy a perfectly applicable flat pack player that they just have to set up then of course they would.

I don't see it as buying a title, more like investing in one. In the end that's what it is.... you purchase or lease certain players in the hope they will fight for you to win the/a title

Thing is, if they didn't use the money on decent players to improve the team, they'd be seen as financially dumb... there's no winning when it comes to finance in footie.

It's just a cop out excuse. If United had spent better the last few years they wouldn't have been so far behind Chelsea despite the money.

And a shock that it's a Chelsea fan. Chelsea were a mediocre team before Abrahmovich came and bought all those players. Man United were made into a worldwide superpower through great development and building up a great team piece by piece. There is a BIG, big difference between adding 3 or 4 players a year and going out and one day buying up a whole team.

Mediocre is a bit harsh. They did finish 4th.

Still, I think City are buying the title.

I think most of the players bought in during the summer are for the future of Manchester United, most of the wont get a look-in this season. I can only really see Hargreves playing regular.

there is no such thing as buying a title... unless you're in Italy :hahaha:

All clubs spend money on players, some more than others, so all clubs 'attempt' to purchase a title through their players/coach acquisitions. After their spending is done the title is won nowhere else than on the pitch.

Exactly, you buy players to get better, and the more players you buy the better you SHOULD get. Everyone tries to buy the title, but only one club succeeds at the end of the season.
