Firefox Keeps Freezing for a few seconds when loading pages

My Firefox is doing my head in, every time I load a new website up, the Firefox browser keeps freezing for a couple of seconds then its ok and then it keeps freezing every so often, but only for a couple of seconds and only when i'm loading pages.

Anyone else suffered from this?

Fine for me, what's the memory like on that PC and what version of FF is it on?

Version 2.0.0.4, its the portable version and it does the same on the computers I use at the internet cafe on the base.

I think its because it is writing to the USB drive!!

I could of sworn it did the same when I tried running it off the hard drive in college.
