Rivalries

Why do we hate our neighbouring clubs? I know you want to be the best in your region but surely at the end of the day Arsenal and Chelsea both represent London. Personally I don't really hate teams like Fulham and Chelsea just because their west london clubs i don't see the point. I don't like QPR because they tried to buy us out and their general arrogance but not as much as I hate teams like Liverpool. Basically I don't think being neighbours is good enough reason to hate a team. I'd rather hate them for other reasons

Arsenal v Tottenham on so many levels.

There based pretty much next to each other, they thrive to be the best in London, the fight for 'whos the best in North London', derby.

Either side will be brought up to give banter to each other (and I hope it goes as far as that) and it will keep going on, passed on to grandsons and other family members and friends.

Its not nice when you lose, but when you lose to your rival its almost sickening!

yes: I can imagine it, when that game was 5-4 to Arsenal I nearly fainted from the excitement, we went up, then you did, then we did and so on.

It's gotta be this year we finally beat you surely? Came close a few times 05/06 two 1-1 draws with late goals from your lot.

If not I'll shuffle back into my shell and wait for it to all cool over again :animatedfear:

I think that game was 04/05, I remember Defoe's cracker! Taking it around all your defence (near enough) and hammering it home!
But we still lost in the end.

rivalries are good for all teams, even in a Sunday league. They add excitement and a good discussion point for many fans. Hell, even I have a rivalry...

City fans used to like Wigan then you beat us 4 0 at your place. We went off you a bit, the you won 1 0 at our place. We still like you though, All my city fan mates went to the pub to watch Wigan Sheff United on the last day, cheering for your lot (we knew it would be a better game than City Spurs)

Rivalries make football. I think City united is purely because they are next door.
