Ribery to Bayern Munich

Quote:
Olympique Marseille have officially confirmed that Franck Ribery will be plying his trade for Bayern Munich next season.
In a 25m euro deal Bayern have obtain the services of Franck Ribery. The deal is a record for the Bundesliga, he will earn 4m euro a year

source: Goal

funny that he went for Bayern... he stated that if Marseille weren't in the CL he would leave. Now Marseille is in it while Bayern are not. Best of luck to him in the Uefa cup yes:

Interesting. After his great WC I was surprised he stayed at Marseille even for a season. I'd have thought maybe an English team would be after him like Arsenal/Chelsea and that would be preferable to Munich because of the money and Champions League option

I read that a deal has been agreed
but I would have prefered he would have joined an PL or spanish team
he is too good not to be playing in europe UCL
bayern need him as a replacement for off contract Salihamizidc going to Juventus
he would have prosfered at arsenal, I guess wenger & the club dont have that kind of money

What happened to Bayern incidentally? Normally they buy the Bundesliga how come they didn't even get into the CL?

You'd give them a game. Even though it means your more likely to get an early exit surely it's better than playing some unprounouncable Easter European team away.

An 'easy' team would suite Spurs though.. yes:

Would suit any team...you want the big matches though. Actually I think the bigger the team the more they want a smaller team. Like in the FA Cup the best team a non-league team can get is Man Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal and the best team a big club can get is the non league club.

Well other than Bayern who is there? The chances of drawing them are slim!

But it will probably be the same old, get to the quarters and get cheated out of it again. :animatedfear:

Haha, I'm sure you've got more of a chance next season than you did this season just gone.

No shame in losing to Sevilla. As much as I wanted Spurs to win Sevilla deserved to win over the two legs and were worthy champions

Deserved it? They scored 2 goals out of the 4 they got. One was a penalty which shouldn't have been and the other was an own goal. If we didn't do that we would have won theoretically.

Yeah they probably played better over the 2 legs, but if you don't score you can't be called the better team can you? The 2 goals which shouldn't have happened would have probably kept us in the UEFA.

Also, the 2 early goals in the second leg was a bugger aswell yes:

No shame losing to Sevilla, but the shame of being cheated out of beating them still sticks in the throat.

bayern will have to live to their reputation in uefa cup next season & steady the ship in bundesliga
they are at the end of a cycle
& looking to rebuild
spurs lack the experience in europe, & a leader on the pitch
more experience will help them in europe
