Thierry Henry has begun his rehabilitation after injury but the Arsenal captain will not play again before Christmas.
The fitness of the French striker has been under discussion ever since he played at Fulham on November 29. It turns out that was his last appearance for almost a month. The problem is no longer his sciatic nerve. It is now a hamstring injury that is keeping him out.
“Thierry has started his rehabilitation,†said Arsène Wenger ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Wigan. “He is still not completely free from his hamstring [injury] so he starts again.
The manager was asked if Henry was out until after Christmas. “Realistically, certainly yes,†he replied. “I would not want to set a time on it. We will take the needed time.
“We hope we can slowly build him up and make him competitive again. The neck problem is sorted out. He had a sciatic nerve problem and a hamstring problem. And [the hamstring] is the most troubling for him now.â€
Its a shame to see him out yet again, i'm sure hes itching to get out and play football again. However, he still says that the World Cup took its toll on him and has physically drained him. He really needs the time out and i'm sure its for the best, rushing injuries can always lead to new ones.
I'd like to see him perform a more comfortable game when he comes back because he looks uncomfortable playing in previous games, not on his usual game people of the premiership know him for.
Hope he gets fit soon!
