TURKISH fans have contacted mfc.co.uk to send their best wishes to departing hero Tuncay Sanli and predict he will be a huge success in English football.
The emails began coming in late last night as news broke in Turkey that Boro had won the race for the 25-year-old forward.


"I have heard you have signed Fenerbahce captain Tuncay Sanli," wrote Ufuk Cihan. "If it's true Boro made the transfer of the year.

"He is a spectacular young player. I'm honestly jealous because I'm a Newcastle fan. He is Turkey's best player and one of the best players I have ever seen."

Cengiz Tecmen described Tuncay as the "perfect player" and expects him to achieve greatness with Boro.


"I am very sad that he left our team. He has a great character and he plays football by heart.

"Congratulations to Middlesbrough. Next year for sure your team will finish the league in top five."

Yamac Berki has been a Fenerbahce supporter for more than 30 years and says Tuncay is among the best players he has seen in that time.


"He is one of the most important players in the Turkish first division and has played a very important role in the team's success," he said.

"He is fast and aggressive but apart from this he is a real fair play contributor. I can say that he'll be the most successful Turkish player ever in the Premier League."


Ali Osman Kara wrote: "Tuncay Sanli is a great player, he has a unbelievable performance, a great energy and I think he will be very useful to Boro.


"Congratulations. You didn't transfer only a player, you have a Braveheart."


And Tuncay fan Erkal pledged his allegiance to Boro after hearing of the star's decision.


"Congratulations Tuncay has become your player, it means I will support also Middlesbrough together with Fenerbahçe," he said.

I don't want to piss on your fire but it's one thing being great in Turkey and it's another thing being great in EPL. I'm sure he'll be a good signing though and will do well. Sounds like a much better replacement for Viduka than Alliadiarre.

well on FM2007 he always gets snapped up by a good team, which is a good indication of someone's class, and don't knock Aliadiere, he's not that bad a player you know

I'm looking forward to seeing him and it sounds like we have pulled off a excellent coup. Newcastle fans are giving us shit on the bbc 606 website, saying Tuncay who? To be fair I had not heard of him till a few days ago when we were linked with him. It will be harder for him in the Premiership but he still should be more consistent than Viduka.

Well that's something that we will have to wait and see. But many quality players come to the Premiership and remain just that. You do get the flops but hopefully he will not become one.

The guy up the roads name is Viduka and he is awesome and our stikeforce potentially is fantastic. As for Boro he is a great signing a 1 in 3 for club and contry and the side before fenerbache it was virtually 1 in 2. He's a great signing for Boro and you guys should be looking forward to the new season with plenty of optimism

Yes I am now, it was looking bleak when we let viduka go. But us and Newcastle should have a good season. I just hope we finish above you lot.

There is a lot of negative comments about us signing Tuncay, all from opposition supporters some are below.

Ye, he could have done a Nihat or Altintops & joined a decent European side fighting for C/L & the Uefa Cup...

He will realise his mistake once he plays infront of a half empty stadium... Boro compared to Fenerbache, haha its a whole new world. He's going to wonder if people actually speak during a football game up there, let alone sing...

yeah he could have done a lot better with his choice of joining middlesbrough.

but nevertheless, great signing for boro as he is a quality player.

Quality signing,although,I'm a bit surprised he has plumped for Boro,considering he is of a calibre that is capable of playing for a top side who regularly competes in the Champions League.

I hate it when fans do this. Middlesbrough have ambition and these signings prove it. Gibson has said there will be more on the way also, so hopefully we will have a great team

I'm sure its better for him to get noticed over here than playing in the Turkish league. A good thing he said was he would prefer to play for a club where he will get a definite starting place.

The thing is though they aren't in Europe NOW, I'd be surprised if he'd turned down offers from the top four or Spurs as next season you'd expect them to have more chance of winning something than Boro.

Are strike force could be better next season..looking good at the minute.. this turkish guy and allidiere coming in..and hopefully we will get kamara aswell..them three and yakubu and dong gook..we will have a great strike force :thumbup1:

Southgate just needs to sort out the ring wing and right back..
