Chelsea secure Bolton's out-of-contract defender Tal Ben Haim on a four-year deal.
The Former Bolton player is currently 25 Years Old, Ben Haim was brought in by Alardyce however he has decided to go to Chelsea rather than Newcastle
Good luck ;)

Will he get a game though?
There is a lot of competition for places at Chelsea.
How will he improve their team? Mourinho's not exactly Big Sam on free transfers.
he has not joined yet
He has.
I think he's quite an overrated player to be honest. Doubt he'll get a game but maybe useful as back-up for Carvalhio and Terry if they don't get another defender.

well, Chelsea are definitely being thrifty....
I think he let his contract run because he knew Mourinhio was interested and had been for a while. Have to feel a bit sorry for Bolton, but I guess that's the downside of the Bosman rule
He did okay for Bolton he is nothing special. Makes the odd mistake but as you said he'd be useful backup for the League Cup.
Looks like Abramovic isnt using his billions at the moment!

I bet he will get a game. Chelsea played 64 games last season and the defence became thin. I don't know how many games he'll play, but he will get his fair share.

Alex, Terry, Ricky, Boulla, Cole, Bridge, Johnson, Farrera and Geremi why the hell would we need another defender. i just don't see the point in signing Ben Haim.

I think Geremi is leaving... at least that's what the rumour mill has stated
Looks more a money move to me, on Ben Haims part.
I also heard that Geremi is returning to Bolton..
Boularhouz might be leaving to bayern Munich. They probably bought him as they are very thin on natural centre-defenders. They cant always turn to Essien to cover - he's hell of alot more effective in midfield.
Well they'd be smart to get rid of Boularhouz, hes dire!
Can't believe he was signed, even as an emergency defender...

I don't think this Ben Haim fellow is Chelsea quality, he failed to get a regular spot at Bolton what are his chances of gaining a regular spot at Chelsea slim to none i tell you.

He'll be starting most of the games on the bench, its a good way to get loads of money but at the expense of ruining your career.

hmm, the name Shaun Wright Phillips come to mind when you here about moves like that.
It all depends what they want money, or the football.

Chelsea did run into some problems with defense last year due to injury so they could use a player. I really respect the decision to not spend any money this transfer window though.

If you can sort your defence out then you guys will be fine.
