Could we be looking at a quite summer in the transfer market with clubs putting silly price tags on players.

I know its still early days but with the opening fixtures already here im surprised at not seeing more movement in the transfer market.

Clubs over pricing there players because of clubs like Liverpool, West Ham, Aston Villa and possible Man City recently been taken over by rich owners.

A example of this is Darren Bent's proposed move to West Ham i mean Â£17 million and Â£75,000 a week i mean whats that all about.

Any view's?

The money is always going to be there, some players over-priced and some not. Depends on the managers aswell, if they used there initiative more than getting out the big club wallet then there bound to find 'unfound' stars more than the known.

Like you said, with more mid table clubs being taken over by businessmen, the price tags of players will rise increasingly.

Darren Bent for instance, WAY over priced for a player not yet proved at top flight (yet).

thats what everyone thought about andy johnson but he wasnt consistent this season

Johnson was carrying an injury for the last 3 months which explains his (comparatively) poor performances.

They still scored oevr 10 goals though even if they were injured. Still, Darren bent only cost £3m, he scores a few goals yes but is definately not 17m. We got Van Nistelrooy for that.
