Article about the game: TSN : SOCCER - Canada's Sports Leader (http://www.tsn.ca/soccer/news_story/?ID=211510&hubname=)

Okay, while the USA played a great game, it should NOT be them in the Gold Cup Final.

While I can't find a clip online yet of the injury time equalizer that Canada had taken away from them by the most bizarre refereeing decision I've ever seen in my life, I can say that the ref was either on drugs or was paid off or was just a loser altogether.

One of our midfielders played a through ball to Atiba Hutchinson who was ONSIDE to begin with, and to make it even more obvious the ball bounced off the American defender making the play onside no matter what anyway, and he went in on a breakaway and put it past Keller. No flag at all from the linesman, but the REFEREE decided that he'd seen an offside and waved off the goal, handing a 2-1 victory to the US. CONCACAF has to be the biggest joke of a confederation in the world. The Gold Cup tournament (which is supposed to be CONCACAF's top event) has gotten literally no publicity, I bet nobody here even knew it was going on, their refs suck, and they do anything to ensure that the USA get to the Final. Why? For TV ratings and attendance, since they always hold the tournament in the USA. This a freakin joke, I've never seen a call that unfair in my life. I'll try to find a clip of it tomorrow, to show what I mean...

But in the grand scheme of things, it's not the end of the world- After all, we'll be there in South Africa in three years, and we'll be standing.http://www.sportsknowhow.com/images/soccer-canada.gif

i didn't realise the Gold Cup was on, i presume it's a pretty presigious tournament, in North America. I know how you feel though, as an England supporter, we have been at the heart of some questionable descisions based on hidden agenda's

I don't think of it as that prestigious, although it's the main tournament for the CONCACAF nations (North America, Central America and Caribbean islands) and sometimes they invite a team from South America.

here is the footage; the controversy is around minute 6
